Casinha Cancao An apartment in the main building accommodates a maximum of 5 people. It has a large room with a double bed and living room with dining table and a fully equipped kitchen including an oven, royal bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and a separate bedroom with bunk bed (for 3), private terrace. Casinha Canto A large apartment in the main building accommodates a maximum of 6. A luxury double bed separated from the living area by a large closet. A room, which has 1 single bed and 1 double bed, it's a 3 persons bunk bed. A comfortable living room with kitchen. A complete bathroom, with shower, sink and toilet. Additional bed is possible. A wonderful, private, terrace with a large barbeque. Casinha Canconeta A detached cottage accommodates 4 (2 adults and 2 children), with a private terrace, complete kitchen and bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. One space with a double bed, bunk bed, living room with dining table. The luxury pyramid-tents, with a diameter of 5m. Equipped with fixed beds and kitchenette with fridge are suitable for maximum of 4 people and exhale the environment of Bedouins on travel through the desert. The tents share a shower/toilet unit where the dishes can be done as well. At all the accommodations there is a possibility to place an extra baby bed. We would like to keep our accommodations free of smoking; of course you can always smoke outside. A pet can bet taking- after consultation-, keep in mind that it can get very warm here from time to time and in nature there are often ticks and sand flees.

Portugal is known as a child friendly country. Portuguese are crazy about children and that shows. You can take along your children to a restaurant anytime. Now only continue reading if you are under 16! In the summer season, we organize several activities, large and small adventures. For the youngest we have a baby pool, which mum and dad can fill with gently warm water. The rest can venture a dip in the swimming pool and enjoy water games. Between the olive-trees we have made a playground. You can enjoy yourself on the trampoline, swings or in the sandpit. Casita Nossa is your special place where you can play table soccer, darts, and other games with your newly made friends. Also available is a shelf with books and comics. No worries if mum and dad want to go biking with you. We have bikes with kid's chairs and a cool one, were your bike will be attached to your dads, so he must do all the work and you can read the map. When you already have biker's legs it is possible to rent a kids bike. Also a tough walking wagon in which you can sit with your small brother or sister, when you want to take a brake, while walking, is available for rent. In the surroundings: Might our swimming pool become too small for you, you can enjoy 2 large aqua parks in the area nearby. The caves in the mountains are not to be missed. There is one in which you descend 680 steps and a part of a Harry Potter movie was shot there. Beaches are spectacular, with huge waves and tubes where you can jump sky high. Quiet bays with enough sand for thousands of sand castles and rippling water is also available. Popular for the big kids is, among other things: surfing, parapenting, 4 x 4 and quads.

Walking Casa Cantiga is located on the edge of the nature reserve Serra de Aire e Candeeiros, just a few steps from the pinhal de Leiria and the Costa de Prata, places where you can enjoy a nice walk. In addition to a number of our own made hiking routes, you can also use the regular walks: In the mountains, in the pinewood and of course along the coast. We offer walking tours on which you can hire us as a guide, but also maps and routes to independently enjoy the west of Portugal. Routes through unspoilt nature with occasional small towns and lost sheep, next to routes by dunes and forest area on the coast with beautiful views to the ocean and impressive rocks and nature. Walks are possible from 1 hour (for beginners) to 4 to 6 hours for the more experienced walker. A delicious lunch to take with you, we can prepare and for instance advice or make a reservation in one of the local restaurants on your route. Cycling / Biking For cyclists, it is a splendid area here. We have made, for each level, a number of routes directly from Casa Cantiga. Wonderfully quiet routes through small-town villages with welcoming cafes, or by valleys filled with fruit trees toward the coast near Nazare. In the Pinhal of Leiria are many bike paths constructed that take you through the forest to the coast. For mountain bikers, it is a paradise. The many paths and rugged mountains provide challenges for large and small adventures. Maurice, himself an avid cyclist, can guide you on your tours, there are also mountain bikes and hybrid bikes for rent. Walking / Biking Week A week, you can book all year round (except of July and August). A special week to enjoy: nature, culture and the gastronomy of west-Portugal. We have composed for you a number of routes (guide optional) who will bring you in the most beautiful places, good walking or cycling, enjoy a warm lunch and then a visit to one of the many cultural highlights. Possible are combinations of 3-5 days. Golfing - Tennis - Equestrian - Creative courses - Language courses. We can make a recommendation or advice you on a program. Casa Cantiga At the west coast, approximately 95 km above Lisbon, the Costa the Prata within 15 minutes drive, you can find Casa Cantiga. A small-scale stay where you can enjoy the sun, pleasant temperatures and a breathtaking sparkled sky. Our Casa has a splendid view on the Serra de aire e Candeeiros, an ideal spot to discover the real live of Portugal. A wonderful combination of nature and culture, with in the direct surroundings wonderful cities, such as Alcobaca, Bathalha, Leiria, Fatima, Caldas da Rainha, Obidos, Nazare. Casa Cantiga has 3 comfortable apartments and 2 special tents accommodating 2 up to 6 persons. An inviting pool, a complete served breakfast, the terrace as well as the places under the olive-trees are added benefits. You can enjoy the weekly barbecue, the many birds which sing to you in the morning, several fruit trees and a breathtaking sky. For the children we have a separated shallow part in the swimming pool as well as a playing area with swings, sandpit and trampoline. Looking for active pursuits, you will find lots of possibilities: several golf courses in the surrounding area and mountains and nature for hiking and walking. Bicycles and a very special walking wagon are for rent. Or what do you think of: a nice tour, splendid nature, typical Portuguese villages and lots of culture. Going out for diner is also a pleasure with regard to taste, diversity and value for money. Costa the Prata (silver coast) is an alternating coast with cliffs, bays and often-broad beaches. The coast here is considered the most beautiful of Portugal, still mostly untouched by tourism, and besides a paradise for surfers with mass waves and also a lot of lagoons extremely well suited for children. Golf fanatics can enjoy themselves on the courts of: Praia D'el Rey (Obidos), Botado (Peniche) and Golden Eagle (Rio Maior). Furthermore we also have an active program in summer season. Each visitor receives a file with all the information of the surroundings. That particular, still, hardly discovered beach, that special fish restaurant, a special walk, our hospitality and a personal and relaxed atmosphere are among the things we offer.

When you choose for adventure, authentic live and enjoying nature and you are open for other cultures, then you understand the true art of discovering. There is much to discover in the surroundings of Casa Cantiga with to the north Coimbra (90km), in the south Lisbon (100km), eastwards Tomar (68km) and to the west the Atlantic Ocean (15km) and in between In the hammock or at the swimming pool you can plan your day, using the travel guides, maps and other information that lies ready for you. Casa Cantiga is located only 5 minutes away from the historical center of Alcobaca, that besides the famous Monastery and church, also offers you restaurants, theatre and cinema, lovely stores and supermarkets. Alcobaca, Terra de Paixao! The region Estremadura in which our Casa lies is the heart of Portugal, a long and narrow coast province with the capital Lisbon in the south. Lisbon is a city with a clear Southern European charm and mentality and with a rich history and a large offer of culture. Historically and culturally, Estremadura is the richest region of Portugal. It houses cities such as Alcobaca, Aveiro, Batalha, Caldas da Rainha, Coimbra, Fatima, Figueira the Foz, Obidos, Leiria, Lisbon, Mafra, Nazare, Peniche, Santarem, Sintra. Beaches: Nazare, Foz the Arelho, the beautiful bay of Sao Martinho do Porto far too many to list here so take a look at their special page. Golf: Praia D'el Rey, Obidos; Botado, Peniche; Golden Eagle, Rio Maior; Vimeiro, Vimeiro (Torres Vedras). For walking and biking you are at the right place. The presence of the Serra (mountains), the large Pinhal da Leiria (a pine forest of 12000 hectares) and the many beaches make it a pleasure for young and old. In our direct surroundings there are also a number of unique spots to visit. What to think of the saltpans of Rio Maior, where you can see how salt is won? Or the many caves, the glass route and wine routes, the real Portuguese markets? All this information and much more can be found in the package that is made available to you upon arrival.

Extra bed can be added in Casinha Canto, at the price of 50 euros per week. Special prices for longer periods as well as for groups are available on request. Rental prices includes electricity, water, gas, sheets and towels. Additional babypackage: bed, chair, bath, 20 euros per week. All prices are indicated in euros, per appartment/tent per week. Breakfast (not in highseason): 3,50 euro per person / per day. Arrival in summerseason only possible on saturday. Outside the summer season it is possible to rent the appartments for a shorter period of time, minimum stay of 3 nights.
