Within walking distance of Copperfield we can reccommend the following restaurants and pubs: Great Mediterranean Cuisine from Cafecino Plus in Mill Street. Good local beer and pub food. www.kingsarmsbideford.co.uk. The Bight and Crabby Dicks in Cooper Street are next door to each other. A great place for a beer or wine and then into The Bight for a nice meal. www.crabbydicks.co.uk. The Black Smith Arms is conveniantely located right on the Tarka Trail. Just walk out of Copperfield onto the Tarka Trail, turn left and the Blacksmiths is about 5 mins walk. Enjoy good pub food or a cool beer on the Tarka Terrace. The no is 01237 477747. (web site still under construction) Jock and Sue serve a top notch Sunday Roast! Huge portions with lots of fresh vegatables. For a real local cosy atmosphere go the Bell. Food is served everyday along with a good selection of wine and beers. They can accommodate from 2 - 20 plus. Please say you are staying at Beaconside. Situated accross the road from the beach and the fantastic sea views The Boathouse offers a great selection of meat and local fish dishes to be washed down with a large selection of wines and beers. Tel no 01271 861292. 10 mins drive from Beaconside Decks Restaurant is next door to the Boathouse. www.decksrestaurant.co.uk. This restaurant offers a real treat. For that special romantic meal there is nowhere better! Tel no 01271 860671. 10 mins drive from Beaconside. The Hoops Inn on the A39 towards Bude is a beautiful old thatched pub with a stunning menu. They offer bar meals and a restaurant area. Tel no 01237 451222. 15 mins drive from Beaconside. A nice afternoon walk at nearby Bucks Mill or Clovelly followed by a meal at Hoops to round off a perfect day. Broomhill Restaurant www.broomhillart.co.uk and Sculpture Gallery is a novel place in which to eat. Not only will you enjoy fabulous food but you can then take a stroll through the delightful grounds and enjoy some of the most unusual sculpture in this country. 40 mins drive from Beaconside. tel no 01271 850262 Although Padstow is about an hour and a half drive it is a great day out and whilst you are there you could go to reputedly the best fish restaurant in the South West,Rick stein's Seafood Restaurant. We are sure you will have a memorable meal. I can highly recommend the fresh oysters with chilli sausage washed down with a glass of Chablis to start! With Copperfield being situated in such a good position there are many things to do right on its doorstep. The Tarka Trail is just one minute walk from the house and it is an absolute must for all walkers and cyclists! Please click on this link for loads more info. To be able to walk accross the Old bridge onto the Quay to pick up a Hockings Ice Cream will provide lasting memories! Bideford Quay. Moored almost infront of Copperfield is the Kathleen and May. This impressive sail boat has been restored to its former glory by a local businessman and now has HRH Duke of Edinburgh listed as one of its many visitors. Why not take a stroll down to its dock. It will only take you a few minutes to get there. Kathleen and May and Copperfield. Copperfield is the middle house of 3 on top left. Copperfield is just 5 minutes drive from the glorious sandy beaches at Instow and Westward Ho! There are many other local attractions including Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, The Milky Way and Big Sheep theme parks and Royal North Devon Golf Club all 5 minutes drive away. A boat trip to Lundy Island on the Oldenburg leaving from Bideford Quay is a great day out! You will know when the Oldenburg is about to leave by looking out of Copperfields windows to the quay.
