There are many beautiful gardens, open to the public, within easy reach of Ridgeway Bed and Breakfast accommodation, Blairgowrie. National Trust for Scotland. ] Private garden of two acres. Many varieties of rhododendron and azalea as well as other plants. Well worth a visit. Bell's Cherrybank Gardens is home to the Bell's National Heather Collection, Europe's largest collection of heather, consisting of over 50,000 plants and 900 varieties. The University of Dundee Botanic Garden. ) has been described as the jewel in the crown of the university. The garden is a centre for public enjoyment in addition to its principal function of supplying plant material for teaching and research within the University of Dundee. Explorers Garden, Pitlochry Festival Theatre (. ) You don’t have to be a budding botanist to really appreciate the beauty of this unique garden. Not only is it packed with amazing and rare plants, you’ll also discover the fantastic stories behind the men who risked death to bring them back. ) This 2.4 ha Himalayan/North American woodland garden overlooking the scenic Strathtay valley was planted and developed by the late Bobby and Betty Masterton from 1950. ) There is no record of when the garden at Bolfracks was first created.
