Principala atractie turistica in Biertan este Biserica Evanghelica Fortificata - cetate saseasca construita in stil gotic cu 3 ziduri de aparare care dateaza din anul 1522, si care se regaseste in patrimoniul UNESCO. Cetatea Cisnadioara este unul dintre cele mai reprezentative monumente ale stilului romanic din Transilvania. Biserica este atestata documentar la 1223, cand Magister Goulinus o doneaza Manastirii cisterciene de la Carta. Construit in jurul secolului al XV-lea, a avut rol de aparare a Cetatii Sibiului. Pe partea de sus turnul are forma unei prisme octogonale, adaptata armelor de foc (archebuzelor), iar gurile de aruncare au fost folosite special pentru indepartarea celor care ajungeau la baza turnului. A fost construit deodata cu cea de a II-a incinta fortificata, intre anii 1224 si 1241.Turnul Sfatului, simbolul orasului Sibiu apare prima oara alipit cladirii unde aduna Sfatul Orasului, de unde a primit si numele pe care-l poarta astazi. Acesta face legatura dintre cele doua piete din centrul orasului Sibiu. Turnul Archebuzierilor mai tarziu Turnul Panzarilor a fost construit dupa 1450 impreuna cu a treia centura de fortificatii a orasului. A fost intretinut si aparat de breasla archebuzierilor si de breasla panzarilor. Forma actuala a turnului este octogonala cu partea superioara iesita in afara, sprijinita pe console si prevazute cu guri de aruncare realizate pentru posibilitatea executarii focului de archebuze. Biserica Evanghelic este una dintre cele mai frumoase i impresionante cldiri gotice din Transilvania. A fost ridicat in 1520 pe locul unde exista o veche bazilic romanic inc din secolul 12. In faa bisericii se gsete statuia episcopului Georg Daniel Teutsch (1817-1893) ridicat in 1899. Interiorul bisericii este in stil gotic, cu boli arcuite i pietre funerare pe pereii din nord. Biserica Franciscan, fosta Mnstirea a Clariselor, care dup reforma luteran, a fost desfiinat, i utilizat ca depozit de cereale, suferind serioase deteriorri. In anul 1716, a ajuns in proprietatea Ordinului franciscan care in acel an s-a stabilit in ora. In cripta bisericii sunt mai multe pietre funerare, printre care i a guvernatorului Transilvaniei, Iohann Haller, decedat in anul 1786. Biserica se mai mandreste i cu o statuie din lemn de tei: Madona cu pruncul realizat in sec.XV. Catedrala Ortodox din Sibiu a fost construit intre anii 1902-1906 pe locul unei biserici greceti din 1778 care pan atunci servea drept catedral episcopal, prezint caracteristicile unei bazilici bizantine fiind o copie la scar redus a bisericii Sfanta Sofia din Constantinopol. Biserica dintre Brazi din Sibiu, cu hramul Sfinii Apostoli Petru i Pavel, situat in strada Reconstruciei nr. 17, este cel mai vechi lca de cult construit de Biserica Roman Unit cu Roma in Sibiu. Edificiul a fost ridicat intre anii 1778-1788 in stil baroc, pe un teren cumprat de episcopul Inoceniu Micu-Klein. Finanarea construciei a fost fcut de episcopul Grigore Maior. Cladirea ridicata in 1474 a fost manastire dominicana pina in 1543, cind, cu ocazia reformei religioase ce a determinat trecerea unei mari parti a populatiei sasesti la religia lutherana, lacasul de cult a intrat in posesia lutheranilor. Manastirea, cunoscuta sub denumirea de Kloster Kirche, a fost preluata in 1755 de maicile Ordinului Ursulinelor.
