Welcome at Sporthotel Oberwald! Oberwald - the first village in Valais, 1366m above sea level. Oberwald is situated near the Matterhorn - Gotthard railway, in an area which is ideal for (cross country) skiing and golfing. In winter, you can reach the great cross-country area comfortably from the north and east by the Furka tunnel. A car train is available between Realp and Oberwald. The sunny valley has guaranteed snow in the winter. The cross-country area comprises 100 kilometers of perfectly prepaired tracks, used by hikers as well as topathletes: it runs from Oberwald to Niederwald through a beautiful, unspoiled landscape. The winter hiking trails finds great appeal among visitors and runs along the Grimsel Pass or Rotte. The familiar and nostalgic ski area on the Hungerberg mountain has always thrilled his guests. It is also possible to participate at guided snowshoes-tours on the Hungerberg mountain. Sporthotel is located at the heart of the picturesque mountain village Oberwald, at the foot of Grimsel and Furka-Pass. You will find the hiking and biking trails, the cross-country and skiing area Hungerberg in the immediate vicinity. SPORTHOTEL OBERWALD is the ideal starting point for walking tours, high in the central Alps. We can be easily accessed by car (in summer) or car train through the Furka/ Lötschberg mountain pass (in winter). All rooms have TV, radio, telephone, shower, toilet, hair dryer and a roomsafe.
