Some excerpts from the website of Boscundle Manor that might be useful
Boscundle Manor is located on Cornwall's south coast and is just half an hours drive from the rugged north coast, the Eden Project is within walking distance and numerous other attractions are literally on the doorstep. The hotel is secluded in 5 acres of terraced gardens and natural woodland and guests benefit from indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a croquet lawn and BBQ facilities. Evenings can be whiled away in our award winning restaurant whilst enjoying the very best in fresh local produce. Located 300 yards off the A390, 2 miles east of the historic market town of St. Austell, Boscundle Manor sits in its own quiet grounds and is very centrally placed for sightseeing around Cornwall with many world famous gardens very close by including The Lost Gardens of Heligan (6 miles) and Pine Lodge Gardens (10 minute walk), fishing villages and coastal path walks are within a few minutes drive and most other places of interest are within 45 minutes by car. Built in 1767, Boscundle Manor was home to the mine captain of Wheal Eliza Consoles, the 13th largest tin mine in Cornwall and reputedly one of the most prosperous. The pretty manor building has been a hotel for more than 30 years now and offers discreet accommodation in a range of room styles and sizes with comfortable tastefully decorated public areas including a bar, lovely dining room, lounge, morning room and sunny conservatory. The Zento treatment room (Zento means "the beginning of a journey in Japanese") offers a range of relaxing or invigorating spa treatments including body wraps, massages and facials as well as a range of beauty treatments for women and for men. Opening times are 10.00am to 5.00pm, Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays and treatments on other days are sometimes possible with prior notice. If you are able to make the time to indulge in one of the many spa treatments available in the dedicated Zento room, you will be rewarded by being even more relaxed than you could ever have imagined and in exactly the right mood to enjoy a lovely candle lit dinner in the stunning dining room. Children are welcome at Boscundle Manor, who are able to enjoy the pools and hot tub as well as the scrumptious early supper menu. Whether you are planning a quick weekend getaway, or a more leisurely short break, Boscundle Manor is the ideal venue to enjoy the sights and sounds of our beautiful county.

There are 14, individually designed rooms ranging from standard manor rooms right through to giant suites, with all the usual touches you would imagine from an independently run country house hotel, such as Molton Brown toiletries, fresh fruit and lovely fluffy bath robes (there are even mini versions for the children!). Each of the hotel's 14 bedrooms are different and guests can choose to stay in the manor house, in one of the 3 bedrooms in the cottage or in the Charlotte Garden Suite, which provides a perfect choice for a romantic break. All bedroom are fully en-suite with lovely large fluffy white towels, bath robes, luxury Molton Brown toiletries and feature a mini bar fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, colour TV, direct dial telephone with modem point, trouser press, iron, ironing board and hairdryer.Named after lady authors and heroines, many rooms benefit from flexible accommodation, have spa baths, king size beds, CD/DVD players and private patios.

Family Rooms: Many of our rooms are large enough for one or two foam chair beds and four of our rooms have double bed-settees suitable for up to two children. For smaller children we have themed 'Snuggle Sacs' with mermaids for the girls and pirates for the boys and there are 'Crash Sacs' for the older children. The Cottage: Located at the top of our grounds, about 50m away from the nearest entrance to the Manor House, the Cottage has three double or twin bedrooms that are all en-suite as well as a kitchen/lounge. The cottage bedrooms can be let individually or all together since every room has its own internal AND external access, so by locking the internal doors, more than one party can stay there. The Cottage is surrounded by patios and even has its own, fairly secluded lawn area to the front. Access to the cottage is possible on foot from the Manor and the car park, however it is also possible to drive right up to the cottage via a fairly narrow, but steep lane. The 'Charlotte' Garden Suite: This building is completely self contained and located about 30m from the Manor house just above the outdoor swimming pool. It has an en-suite bathroom with a two person spa bath, large double bed and a comfy sofa in front of the wide screen LCD TV/PVR. Due to it's position, the view down over the gardens from the French Doors is probably the best of all our rooms.

The Grounds: The grounds total just under 5 acres with about half comprising of woodland where there are some old tin mine remains and the other half beautifully kept terraced Cornish gardens containing (from top to bottom) the cottage, the garden room, outdoor heated pool, croquet lawn and private car park. In addition to the heated outdoor pool there is an indoor heated swimming pool as well. We don't have sea views, but a lot of our rooms have nice views of our own grounds. New for 2007 is our gazebo located on the croquet lawn where you can relax in the evening and even book private dining for parties of 4 or more. Business Services: Wireless broadband is available for FREE in most public areas and some bedrooms, all rooms have a modem port and our telephone system supports DDI making it easy to communicate should you wish to. Conference facilities are available and private dining can also be arranged for 8 or more guests.

Boscundle Manor is one of only two restaurants in the St Austell area to be featured in 'The List' of 'Cornish Accredited Restaurants' and offers fine dining with a twist. We serve award winning food created by head chef Michael Hall, using the very best Cornish produce wherever possible and an extensive wine list is offered to accompany your meal. In fact, more than 85% of the food we use in our kitchens are sourced locally and EVERYTHING, and we mean EVERYTHING, is made from scratch. Candles and low lighting to create just the right ambience along with fresh flowers in tall dramatic vases and elegant glassware. Comfortable high backed chairs helps with the feeling of intimacy and starched table cloths and silver cutlery add to the elegance of the dining room.

With its beautiful facade and friendly atmosphere, Boscundle Manor can be the perfect location for your civil wedding ceremony, reception or civil partnership. And with our mature Cornish terraced gardens, there is plenty of scope for that perfect group photograph. If you choose to get married or have your reception at Boscundle Manor, part of the deal includes your very own wedding planner! It is vital that your wedding planner is able to develop a rapport with your bridal party and family and is sensitive and receptive to their ideas. By listening, taking notes and documenting, they become an integral part of the design and planning process thus 'making it happen'. They must be practical and well organised, so that you and your bride or groom are not bothered with last minute details on the day and any anxieties that you may have, must be resolved by the wedding planner. Sharon Parker, the resident wedding planner is just that person and is able to help you as much or as little as you choose to make your day just perfect. She has been orchestrating weddings at Boscundle Manor for more than 5 years now, so has an absolute wealth of experience on knowing how to make your day go smoothly. Once your 'style' has been established, Sharon can play as big or as little a part in the organisation as you want. If you want her to look after everything, then she can but if you are just after gentle guidance then she can help you there as well.
