Hotel Svizzero is located a stone’s throw from the historic centre of Courmayeur and offers an unforgettable stay in an exclusive and comfortable hotel. The elegant environment faithfully recreates the common art of our land and creates a warm and welcoming environment. Hotel Svizzero, established immediately after the Second World War as a typical Swiss chalet, has undergone change as well as carefuzooml restoration: informatics needs, zoom maximum security and soundproofing have not compromised the tradition or the beauty. All the woodwork (used for the roof, floors, internal and external restructuring, furnishing and internal doors) has been recovered from the pre-existing hotel or from old Alpine residences, as have the stones of the walls, the internal and external flooring, the internal walls and the stairs. The furnishing, which uses original pieces or artisan pieces, faithfully reproduces the common art of our land and creates a warm and welcoming environment. The management and ownership has always rested with the same family of valley dwellers, now to their third generation. From the Hotel Svizzero, you can take in the beautiful view of Dente del Gigante (the Giant’s Tooth) and the characteristic village of Dolonne.
Hotel Svizzero has 27 rooms with bathrooms (13 doubles, 7 triples, 4 family room, 1 family room superior, 1 suite, 1 junior suite), which are very warm and welcoming, each very different from one another. The coverings and furnishings are produced with artisan work in recovered wood and natural materials. All rooms include: large balcony, TV, Telephone, Phon, Fridge, Safe, Internet access. The following views are available: on the east side, there is a view of the Mont Blanc range, and the west side has a view of the village of Dolonne. To maximise security, access to rooms is through a swipe card. There is also a well-being area, with a sauna and indoor swimming pool (the pool will be ready for the next winter season). The spa, which combines rusticity, elegance and design, is composed of sauna, hammam and relaxation area, as well as a feature room reserved for massages. Wider the choice of cheeses and wines, mainly in the region and adjacent areas. The environment is warm and welcoming the combination of art with details of Nordic design. The TV room, used as a meeting room for 25 people, has a plasma screen from 50 inches. It’s connected to the cellar of wines and cheeses from a glass door, and can therefore be used to serve aperitifs or do tastings. It's also usable as toy’s room for children.
The "Pearls of the Alps": this is the name that Courmayeur has earned for the extraordinary beauty of its surrounding scenery, the harmony of its architecture and mountains, and for the long tradition of hospitality. It is not by chance that it is the most famous and oldest Italian Alpine station, overlooked by the majestic scenery of the Mont Blanc range. Courmayeur offers a first class welcome: ninety restaurants, pizzerias and cafes, pubs, disco pubs, piano-bars and a very modern sporting facility. It has been the capital of winter sport for more than half a century and offers the opportunity of skiing on the slopes of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. In the area of Checrouit and the Val Veny, three hundred cannons ensure that snow is possible on a good part of the more than 100km of slopes and guarantee that every year, the ski season opens on time. In Val Ferret, at the foot of the Grandes Jorasses, some of the most beautiful and famous slopes in all Valle d’Aosta unwind, with courses of varying difficulty throughout the entire valley with a splendid backdrop. Courmayeur offers its history, its traditions, and its old country pride. It is picturesque in its intact centre, which still shows off the original urban infrastructure and architecture. It is not necessary to forget the worldly side of this area: whoever walks along the streets in the centre can give into shopping in the numerous, elegant shops. The cable car of Mont Blanc, which links 6 spectacular parts between Courmayeur and Chamonix, brushing 4000 metres, is considered the eighth wonder of the world. In Val Ferret a nine hole golf course is open during the summer and is the highest and most spectacular in Europe. Lastly, Courmayeur provides a very well cared for park, a convention centre, a cinema and two managed amusement parks for children, open both in summer and in winter. But to be satisfied, just walking and looking around would be enough.
Enjoying an exceptional view of the Mont Blanc chain, the ski area of the Courmayeur Mont Blanc Funivie offers 100km of piste. For whoever enjoys ski or snowboard a variety of descents through forests and slopes facing the sun of Checrouit and Val Veny. The snow making machines, which produce snow for more than 70% of the ski area assure a quality snow coverage on all the zoompistes. For those who love free ride, in the highest parts of the ski area, you can reach fabulous off piste routes with views of Mont Blanc. Finally, if you are thoughtful or ravenous, you can lose yourself in a break, “it’s sweet to do nothing”, in one of the many restaurants on the mountain. At Courmayeur we pursue your happiness!
