Come and spend a few days at our B&B in rural Andalucia, nestling in 10 peaceful acres. The views are of pine trees and the Sierra Cabrera. Listen to the silence, broken only by birdsong and buzzing bees. If you are lucky you may spot an eagle or an Ibex. We promise it will be hard to leave. We call our Andalucian B&B Finca la Serenidad for its proximity to the village of Serena but mainly for the peace and tranquility it offers. Eastern Almeria is a paradise for nature lovers and walkers and the area around Bédar is one of the best. We have some wonderful mountain walks right on our doorstep and our dog, Kippy, is always ready to accompany you. There are also several walking groups that you can join for organised walks further afield of varying length and difficulty, especially into the Sierra Cabrera. Tempting as it may be to spend all your days round the pool, if you fancy a trip to the coast, the popular resort of Mojácar Playa is less than 30 minutes' drive away, with the Cabo de Gata Natural Park and its famous unspoiled beaches not much further - the Playa de los Muertos is said to be one of the ten best beaches in Spain. In the opposite direction is Vera Playa, which includes a naturist beach, and a bit further on the beautiul coves around San Juan de los Terreros. For more culture, you can reach the Alhambra in Granada or the historical Cartagena in a couple of hours. Finca la Serenidad offers the ideal opportunity to combine the attractions of the unspoiled Costa de Almería beaches with the peace of the countryside - not to mention a great pool pretty much to yourselves!

This is not our first Andalucian Bed & Breakfast, but our motto is the same: 'mi casa es tu casa' - my house is your house. We welcome you as strangers but hope you will leave as friends, and if there is anything at all we can do to make your stay more enjoyable, we hope that you will tell us. The guest area occupies the ground floor of the house and has its own separate entrance with parking adjacent so you can come and go as you please. The spacious sitting room has satellite TV (free-to-air channels), DVD player and huge selection of books. It also has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee-maker and a plancha (table-top grill) so you can make yourself a cup of coffee or a snack at any time. There is log burning stove for cooler evenings and air-conditioning for the summer. The sitting room leads out onto a large covered terrace, furnished with sofa, easy chairs, dining table and chairs. The views from the terrace are to the Sierra Cabrera in the south and our wonderful sunsets to the west. From the terrace, steps lead up to the swimming pool area, furnished with loungers and sunshades. You are welcome to use the pool, terraces and barbecue at any time. Below your terrace is a boules pitch. if you haven't yet tried it, it won't take long to teach you. It's a good way to get some gentle exercise on a warm evening to work up an appetite. We are busy planting various fruit trees: you are welcome to help yourself in season.

We have spent many happy holidays in French Chambres d'Hôtes and the best of them have been our inspiration. We have also identified things which did not appeal to us! As a result, all our mattresses are firm and comfortable, sheets 100% cotton, bathroom lighting good and towels large. With an eye to luggage restrictions we also provide pool towels which you are welcome to take to the beach, and hairdryers. Both guest rooms have airconditioning/heating units and mosquito screens. The French doors lead out onto the covered west terrace. Food is very important at Finca la Serenidad: from the simplest breakfast to an elaborate celebration meal, we like to do it all.
