Despite living contemporary way of life, we still like old, venerable inns. We somehow trust them, as they are the temple of good domestic cuisine, of friendly, warm reception and a nice word. Our house looks old but it is new. The previous house which we brought down was also very old but looked new. We decided to write our story on a new page. Because of us, as we like it that way, and because of you, so that you will like it and enjoy in it. We wanted to create a homelike, warm atmosphere, where the kitchen is the heart of a house. Garden, or Gartelc in the local dialect, is written in our house with the capital G. The lush garden, hedged with wattle, it is a real small laboratory of experience of our grandmothers and new discoveries, all in a wish to make natural products, which we will gladly offer you when you visit us. Both charateristic village objects are also present in our farm. No, we did not built them recently. They are old, very old and full of stories and interesting details. They are doing pretty good for their years, probably because they were made by masters from the quality wood in tha traditional way. We are proud of our building tradition, which reflects our culture and customs which are passed down from generation to generation. All things we make are made with love and passion. We like beautiful things, whether it is a nicely served lunch, decoration of our rooms, wreaths made of wild berries or dried flowers, refurbished pieces of old furniture, a beautiful painting or an old book. We like beautiful old things, full of stories, history and patina.

Hanging out with friends in a relaxed atmosphere with good food and quality wine always stays in one’s memory. The very purpose of socialising is not always the most important. What is important is the moment when we are relaxed, laughing and simply enjoying the company of our friends. We cook for all, both for us and for our guests. You will eat as though you are staying at our place as our guests, which you actually are. We will offer you smoked trout, game dishes, mushrooms or pumpkin soup in the autumn, side dishes made of fresh herbs and fruit goodies or grandma’s strudel for desert in the summer. Therefore, food from the home garden, the nearby forest or from the Krka River. There is always enough fresh white, rye or buckwheat bread. Cvicek wine is the king of the Dolenjsko region, while you can also try other wines - Slovenian, Italian, white, red, or sparkling. One of the things very close to us is dissolving various fruit in spirits. Rich aromas, intensive colours and unusual, though delicious fruit tastes. Blackthorn, quince, strawberry, cherry, European cornel, wormwood. Guests who do not want only to sit and eat can get some exercise by playing tennis. The court is just behind the corner, but far enough that other guests will not hear yells of passionate competitors. After the game you can always calm down the competitive passion by having a cold beer in deep shade.

You probably know the difference between sleep during the week, when you have to get up early and go to work, and sleep during the weekend, when you wake up in the morning without worries and stay in the bed for a while. If you go to a trip for a day or two and leave your worries at home, then you will get even more rest. Not to mention new experiences and not having to clean up at home. You have probably forgotten what are mornings in the countryside like? Peace, quiet, fresh air, a rooster crowing or a tractor humming in the distance, smell of freshly cut grass. Leisure, tranquility, a firm bed, downy covers … the time stops. You will suddenly find yourself thinking; "How about staying for another day or two?"

Fly fishing is a passion. It is active spending of free time by the water. During fly fishing you will see things you would otherwise never see, not even on the TV. You see the real nature, from close, live. On the Krka River you can see beavers, muskrats, small dice snakes catching little fish under the water, experience beautiful mornings, mists, glimmering of light on the water surface, old mills, beautiful cascades. Krka is a special river. Karstic water with deep pools, cascades and rapids. Idyllic and calm river, accompanied by mills, is full of food and full of fish. A chameleon river, which is constantly changing, offers a variety of fish life, primarily salmonids and cyprinids. The queen of the river is the brown trout, which can grow to exceptional sizes due to the abundance of food. There are also fly fishing fish: rainbow trout, bleak, grayling... Evening visit to the Krka river is a special experience because of its rich flora and fauna. Fly fishing season runs between 1 March and 31 November. The huchen fishing season meanwhile begins on 1 October and ends in February. We can provide you with all information on fishing licenses.

Many times you find yourself thinking where to go on vacation: to the Adriatic, Greece, Paris or Cuba? At the same time it turns out that we do not know anything about the nearby valley. Slovenia has a varied and interesting landscape. You can have the same as good or even better time you can spend at home, in the nearby valley or an hour's drive away from home. And you will be spared from trouble with traffic jams at border crossings or delayed airplanes. Forests of the Dolenjsko region have always been rich with mushrooms because of its topography, tree clusters and climate. Mushroom hunting season starts already in the early spring. During mushroom hunting you can come across a brown bear, which does not anywhere else in Europe. The hilly, slightly wavy landscape with vineyard cottages, vineyards and scattered villages and hamlets is more than perfect for family trips with bicycle. Local people are nice and friendly, so do not miss to stop and try local delicacies.

Even though Krka is not a wild Alpine river with rapids and quick flow, it is perfect for family trips with kayak, canoe or even raft. If you are lucky, you will spot tireless beavers who still have not manages to dam up the river. You would not believe it, but we also have a ski slope. In recent years we have had even more snow then in the Gorenjsko region. In normal winters, there is enough snow, while tracks for alpine skiing or cross country-skiing are nicely arranged. We hope that the climate change will not be as thorough as threatened that our children will know what is playing in snow like. Sometimes it happens that the weather is not on our side. Or you just feel like doing nothing special. You can relax in the nearby Dolenjske toplice spa resort which offers everything imaginable for the refreshment of your body and mind.
