Since April 2007 we've been living in our monumental Frisian "head-neck-body" farmhouse built in 1860 in the hamlet Lutje Lollum near the city of Franeker, one of the Eleven Cities with e.g. the famous Eise Eisinga Planetarium. Bed & Breakfast Lutje Lollum occupies a typical Frisian farmhouse, which consists of a residence (the head) and kitchen (the neck) placed in front of a big shed (the body). Since April 2007 we are also busy with renovating the farmhouse in it's original old style. First we renovated the living house (the head), after that the kitchen and the hallway (the Neck) and now the stables (the body). Not so long ago the cows were still here. In the stables we have created 3 double rooms all with a separate bathroom and a cosy living room/breakfast area. In the "Lyts Bûthus" (the cow stable) are provided a kitchen and a family room. Our intention is to preserve the character of the old farmhouse so that guests will get the feeling that they are staying at a farm. As we say in Dutch the "Ot and Sien" feeling from long ago. Our horses, sheep, chickens etc, will help to give you that feeling. Two small stables are still in the old style and here you will find some nice sitting areas, a reading corner and a children corner. The old milk line, drinkers and feet chute are still present. Located in the country, yet close to the city you will be able to relax and enjoy your holidays in Bed & Breakfast Lutje Lollum, where every morning will start with a delicious breakfast with all fresh products. Our B&B near Franeker is also a very relaxing place to stay if you have business to do in our neighbourhood or if you are partcipating in a course.
