Welcome to our Slice of Heaven! Your hosts Linda and Steve Hearn will give you a warm Kiwi welcome to their little piece of paradise in the Marlborough Sounds. Fifth generation New Zealanders with a lifetime of experience in the Marlborough Sounds, Linda and Steve have owned and operated Tanglewood for over twelve years and have welcomed thousands of happy guests. "We want you to feel relaxed and at home at Tanglewood. Whether you stay for just one night, or a couple of weeks, we'll do our best to make your stay enjoyable". A goldmine of local information, Linda and Steve want you to get the best out of your time in the area and are happy to help you plan activities in the Marlborough Sounds and surrounding areas. "We love sharing Tanglewood and the beautiful Marlborough Sounds with our guests. We have an intimate knowledge of New Zealand and the Marlborough Sounds and can help you get the best out of your holiday".

The owners of Tanglewood incorporate environmentally responsible practices into their everyday life and that of Tanglewood. Seasonal and local produce is purchased where possible to reduce emissions from transporting food long distances. All drinking and household water is sourced from pollution-free rainwater and a pristine natural spring located on the property. This water is collected into massive onsite tanks, filtered, and gravity fed into the house for use. Chemical-free, our water is sweet, clean, natural, and makes your hair extra soft! Wastewater is treated onsite and disposed of in an approved environmentally responsible manner. Except the driveway and house, the entire property is covered with trees and bush. In some cases the house has been built around established trees so as not to disturb them! Composting occurs. Garden herbs, vegetables and fruit are grown onsite.

Tanglewood is a modern architecturally designed home with stunning views of the Queen Charlotte Sounds. A family home, Tanglewood is decorated with an eclectic collection of locally made artwork, including paintings and wall sculpture, some created or designed by your hosts. After a day of activities, relax in our large, private jacuzzi surrounded by beautiful native bush, before taking a night-time tour of our very own resident glow worms. There is a private outdoor entertaining area for guests, surrounded by native ferns, with gas BBQ and outdoor table and seating for ten people. Tanglewood offers a variety of spacious super king, queen or twin rooms, all with balcony and private ensuite. All rooms are fresh, clean and modern with new comfortable beds, high quality bedding, and fluffy towels.
