Then continue take a walk around the Cataracts. (the singage is poor so keep your eyes open) Lots of the trail is boardwalked. It is an absolutely beautiful area and has one of the most scenic waterfalls in Newfoundland. Then on to Placentia, the former French capital of Newfoundland, and visit Castle Hill. They have guides to tell you about how cod fishing was done in the 1600s. They also have life-size wax figures showing how people looked and how life was lived at that time. Turn north on route 101.
