Weddings at the Cross Keys Hotel, Kelso, Scotland. Trust us to look after you on that very special day! The whole world knows how special the
wedding Day is for the bride, her parents and their guests. But did you know its also special for us? Our Manager, Chef and all the staff each take a personal interest in every one of those Very Special Days. Because each will be remembered for a lifetime- and we want all those memories to be happy ones!. Marcello Becattelli. Although the Cross Keys is the second oldest Coaching Inn in Scotland, the Hotel has been completely re modernised in the years 1996/97/98 with all the latest facilities available to make your stay a very comfortable one. The Cross Keys is a recommended three star AA, RAC, Scottish Tourist Board 3 star Hotel. The Hotel majestically overlooks the unique French Style Square of Kelso. The Cross Keys is owner-managed and Mr Becattelli or Luca Becattelli are always there to help you in the planning of your function and eventually see your
banquet or
conference through. We have a good name for food and service and we specialise in functions and meals where the catering is at its best. In 1997 the hotel has taken over the old shopping arcade and redeveloped it in the new ground-floor facilities, including: A large, elegant, welcoming entrance and reception area with full disabled access: A spacious and atmospheric
Cocktail bar which is an ideal
meeting place for your guests, while they wait for the Bridal
Party to arrive. An elegant A La Carte
restaurant with comfortable seating and linen tablecloths. The already well established Oakroom serving snacks, light meals and hot and cold
drinks throughout the day. New large Executive style
bedrooms. All
bedrooms have all the facilities related to the 3 Star, 4 Crowns commended Grade. 9 Good Reasons to choose the Cross Keys. The Cross Keys has been at the
centre of Kelso social activities since 1769. The Cross Keys has been completely re modernised and elegantly furbished in 1997/98/99. The Cross Keys has the areas largest dance floor (up to 300 persons) and the
bar is licensed until 1.3Oam. The Cross Keys is family owned and Luca Becattelli acts as a formal Master of Ceremony and will conduct the function in a professional but discreet manner. The food is freshly prepared on the Day and our waiting staff is well trained and smartly dressed. Our terms are very keen and with no hidden costs. For your peace of mind, your
wedding reception is covered by our free insurance plan (micknimum 50 persons at the meal). A Cross Keys silver plated cake knife will be presented to the Bride as a memento of the Reception. What our
Ballroom can offer you to make sure your
party is one to be remembered by you and your guests. Although the
Ballroom is connected to the Hotel, it has its own separate entrance giving complete independence, so that you can dance into the early hours of the morning without disturbing the Hotel's guests. A large foyer, cloakroom and
toilets complete the facilities. A
changing room for the Bride and Groom. A good
heating and
air-conditioning system. Dining facilities for up to 250 guests, comfortably. The
Ballroom could be partitioned for smaller
parties. We dress the top table or
buffet tables with formal decorated cloths. There is a large
bar area with comfortable seating. One of our managers is always available to guide you through the function, as Master of Ceremony. Our
Bar facilities are licensed until 1.30/2.00 am. The
Ballroom has been completely refurbished in 1999. To help you with the planning of your Reception, we suggest you consider the following Guidelines: If you decide for a
buffet there is no need for a table plan, but for a formal
dinner you have to decide how best to seat all your guests. We can help you to do this and we will type your chosen plan in several copies that can be displayed around the
bar and reception area, so that your guests will know exactly where to sit. Table plan and final numbers should be given to reception at least four days prior to the function. It would be greatly appreciated if your seating plan could be in tables of 12. Whenever possible, please keep to the stated time of the meal as the Chef will prepare the food for that time. Delays may spoil the meal. If your
party needs music, try to book the band or
disco as soon as possible. If you wish, we will try to help you in this matter. One of the reasons for our good name is OUR FOOD which is freshly cooked and quickly served. Please ask for our menu selector which is individually priced to enable you to compile a menu according to your budget or you could choose a set menu from the Weekday Package or the Special Offer Menus Options. While we like to give a choice of two starters, it is more practical to choose only one main course, mainly because it is very difficult to forecast how many of each dish will be selected. However if you prefer to give a choice of two or three main courses, we can arrange it, at a surcharge of 30% principally because we need more waiting staff and need to prepare a much larger amount of portions which will lead to more food wastage. Our Master of Ceremony will be formally dressed and will guide you all the way throughout the Function. He will: Receive the Bride and groom at the Hotel entrance and take them to the
Ballroom and align the Bridal
Party to receive the Guests. Invite your Guests to take place at the Table when the meal is ready. Announce the Bride and Groom into the
Ballroom. Introduce the person who will propose the toast to Bride and Groom. Introduce the Groom to toast to the Bride maids. Introduce the Best man to reply on the behalf of the Bride maids. During
Coffee, he will invite the Best man to read the Cards and Telegrams. Present the Bride with a personalized Silver plated knife as a memento of your reception. Align the Bridal
Party to receive your Evening Guests
