Kilmurvey House, situated halfway along the island of Iniacutes Moacuter between Kilronan and the western village of Bun Gowla, is ideal for exploring this truly unique island, no place being more than a comfortable one hour's walk distance. This elegant eighteenth century house, once the family home of the Ferocious O'Flahertys is situated four miles from the ferry port of Kilronan. It has been recently renovated to the highest standards while keeping the old style charm of the house. There are 12 en-suite rooms and all rooms are tastefully decorated and have direct dial telephone. As well as offering superb bed and breakfast accommodation, dinner is served every evening. Dinner includes local produce, fish from Galway Bay, Aran lamb and famous Aran potatoes. Vegetables, salads and fruit come from our own kitchen garden.Vegetarian menu available on request. Kilmurvey House also has a wine licence to enhance your dining experience. There is plenty to do and see on Inis Mor: Dun Aengus, the greatest Barbaric Fort in Western Europe, is located within the grounds, a twenty minute walk away on the cliff edge. Kilmurvey Beach, a magnificent sandy beach, a matter of minutes walk from the house, fly's the coveted Blue Flag and is perfectly safe for swimming for those of all age. Aran Islands is the perfect location for holidays, where you can hear the Irish language spoken o'duchas. Join in the craic, traditional Irish music available in the bars and lounges. Take leisurely walks or cycle tours to enjoy the solitude and relaxation. Admire the beautiful flora and fauna, gentian, harebell, bloody cranesbill, orchid and other exotic flowers and plants found elsewhere only in Alpine climates.
