The Manse
Restaurant at Gleeson's Townhouse offers the pure delights of quality country cooking. The name Manse is a Scottish word meaning 'ministers residence'. In the 1863 the Presbyterian Church purchased the building for that purpose. Not long after it was leased to a Catholic priest, the Very Rev. Thomas. D. Phillips, whom later established a national school for boys at the rear of the Manse in 1881. The Manse
Restaurant was awarded a prestigious RAC 4 Diamond Accreditation, along with the RAC Dining Award in February 2002. The Manse
Restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes, with an Irish and European influence. Set in a relaxing ambience, the
restaurant is fully
air-conditioned. Gleeson's have joined the 'Feile Bia' - A
celebration of Quality Food, with Bord Bia. This is operated in conjunction with the
Restaurants Association of Ireland the Irish Food Board, and demonstrates the commitment of participating
restaurants to source produce that is produced in accordance with recognised Quality Assurance Schemes. So from meats, poultry, and fish to farm vegetables and spices, you can be assured that Gleeson's will serve the freshest and best available. The
restaurant is open to both the public and guests, serving
