Here is what our guests are saying about Columbine Bed and Breakfast. The feeling of being welcomed, along with the beautiful inn itself definitely made this a vacation to remember. I'll be back.. Only a 90 minute drive from Indianapolis to an absolutely perfect get-away weekend.. We were thrilled with the beautiful accomodations and the delicious breakfast.. The rooms are charming. Rich and Bob provide a very relaxing, comfortable atmosphere and encouraged us to feel at home.. A lovely home conveniently located close to downtown Louisville - especially great for anyone attending medical events at nearby hospitals or clinics. The beds were very comfortable, rooms very nice and clean, parking not a problem.. Mike and I want to thank you for your hospitality at the Columbine last weekend (Memorial Day)...We enjoyed our stay immensely and we will be back. The accomodations were very charming and the food superbThank you again for everything My husband and I wanted to thank you for the wonderful and enjoyable experience that we had celebrating our honeymoon at The Columbine last weekend. Thank you for the beautiful memories that you have created for us when we reflect upon our honeymoon in years to come. We look forward to staying at The Columbine in the future, thank you again for the wonderful hospitality and for allowing us the pleasure to stay in your beautiful home.. Thanks for the hospitality. We loved your place!. Just wanted to thank you again for sharing yourselves and your home with me.. I stayed at the Columbine for 2 nights while on a buisness trip. It was a great change from the usual hotels, and one of the best B+Bs I have stayed at. The house is lovely, the location is great. The hosts are friendly while giving you privacy. They helped with dinner plans, gave me directions to everywhere, and made me a to-go breakfast when I had to catch a 7am flight. I loved the always-connected computer, the always-available snacks, and the large video lending library. I travel often for work, and wish there was always a place this great to stay at.. This was my first trip to Louisville and innkeepers, Rich and Bob, made it a most memorable experience. I must say that my most relaxing moments were spent filling my belly with scrumptious breakfast treats such as chocolate-filled french toast, and tranquil afternoons on the sun-soaked, screened porch. Rich and Bob provide guests with all the necessities needed for a memorable trip; their warmth, energy and openness make you feel like you've visited their home on many occasions.. I had the fortunate experience to stay twice at the Columbine Inn. Once in February, and again last weekend (April 17th) for three nights. I loved the house so much that I brought my mother back with me for my second trip. I was working most of the time and she visited with relatives. Rich and Bob are extremely gracious hosts and checked with us daily on our schedules. The area is absolutely beautiful and the house is incredible. The Innkeepers at the Columbine are the most gracious and friendly that I have encountered at any BB. Rich even packed my breakfast on the two mornings I had to leave early!. My teenage daughter and I stayed at The Columbine during a recent trip in Louisville. We always choose to stay at a BB, if possible and I would highly recommend anyone venturing to Louisville to stay there. The rooms are charming. Rich and Bob provide a very relaxing, comfortable atmosphere and encouraged us to feel at home. My daughter especially loved the peanut butter cookies dipped in white chocolate while she was constantly!! checking her e-mail on the computer in the living room. Breakfast was delicious and served in their beautiful dining room.. As a frequent traveler to bed and breakfast inns, I must say this one had the best breakfast fare of any I have been to! Not only were my two breakfast meals unbelievably 'tasty', but also the presentation, service and atmosphere were perfect! Rich and Bob are wonderful hosts, providing so many amenities (snacks, movies, up-to-date magazines, and great conversation) that you could just stay in the house all day and have a great time! Rich and Bob provided one of the most relaxing un-worrisome stays I have ever experienced at a B B. Their good humor and attention to detail, coupled with the unexpected beauty and much appreciated historical location was memorable to say the least. Breakfast-time was tasty and filled with the delightful conversation of other guests. This is a MUST overnight if you're ever planning to visit the Old Louisville section of town...but take your shoes off and spend a few more days with these fellows. It will be worth your time! The Columbine Inn was an exquisite change from the cookie-cutter hotels that I usually stay in on business trips. Everything was wonderful from making a reservation, to the directions I was given all over Louisville to having breakfast made specifically for me with someone genuinely caring as to whether it was perfect--and it was. This is a haven of peace and comfort where one can find lovely everywhere. Traditional business hotels wow you with their intentions to provide you with the greatest service and usually fail to come close to what you anticipate in the way of comfort and service. Rich and Bob have only one standard--perfect and they do it so well. I'll return to the Louisville area for business, but will only do so after checking The Columbine's availability. If I had a complaint, it was that I had to leave! The room was wonderful, the food was excellent and our hosts were above par. We had a great time. My partner and I had come to Louisville to spend some quality time together. We spent a lot of that time at the Columbine just relaxing. Our hosts made our short vacation enjoyable and memorable and we look forward to returning in the near future. We will certainly recommend the Columbine to our friends! We chose the Columbine for our Girls Weekend and were not disappointed! Our hosts, Rich and Bob, were fabulous delightful to talk with, helpful and damn good cooks! The neighborhood is elegant and charming and our room was spacious with all the comforts of home... only cleaner! We are already planning our next trip back, so be ready Rich and Bob. We expect the bodacious chocolate chip cookies this next time. From being able to choose what I wanted for breakfast (all excellent choices by the way) to having a cab called for me every morning, to recommendations for dinner in the evening, to the splendid architecture surrounding me at night, the Columbine was my hub while in Louisville on business. Rich took care of everything I needed and went above and beyond. I can still taste the stuffed French toast and wish I had gotten the secret recipe! For anyone interested in architectural luxury Columbine is a wonderful place to stay. Rich and Bob keep Columbine meticulously groomed. Rich was there to greet us when we arrived and gave us the Grande Tour. We had the pleasure of staying in the 3 room third floor suite. The dormered sitting area was perfect for an afternoon read. Breakfast was hot and made to order. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast!! Made reservations to stay at the Columbine for one night while on business in Louisville. The Columbine and especially its Innkeepers made my business trip so pleasurable that I found an excuse to stay another night! Great hosts, gorgeous mansion, and just the right balance of privacy and friendliness. You may want to plan your stay here around Rich May's famous French toast with Nutella and buttermilk syrup! Our trip to Louisville was a compromise that I was initially not very happy about. We were supposed to go to a larger city that was booked due to a Blues festival. I quickly got over my disappoin...

We would like to extend a warm welcome and invitation to stay at the Columbine Bed Breakfast while you are visiting Louisville. Although stately, this former estate of one of the mahogany kings of Louisville, which was built in 1896, cannot disguise the warmth and hospitality that we extend to all our guests. The bed and breakfast has preserved details that truly reflect the Victorian era in which it was constructed. On entering the ground floor of the Columbine, our guests may find many splendid examples of Victorian craftsmanship at its finest. For example, through the pocket doors of the dining room, guests will find rare Honduran mahogany adorning the walls along with a gorgeous fireplace with rare, rose marble imported from Carrera, Italy and a regal dining table with intricately carved chairs. Also included on the ground floor is the parlor, living room and a large screened in back porch, which provide areas for relaxation. Completely restored in 1994, the Columbine Bed Breakfast maintains its Victorian integrity yet continues in the present day with modern amenities. Along with central heat and air added in 1994, each guest room contains a queen bed, cable television/VCR, a telephone line, secretary, overhead ceiling fans and most importantly, a private bath. Out of our 6 bathrooms, 2 have claw-foot tubs. As you can see, at the Columbine Bed and Breakfast we take great pride in our home but most of all we take pride in our warm and friendly atmosphere. We try to make every guest feel at home and welcome. After all, we like to think most people come back not just because of our marble fireplaces or great beds! We try to make every person, couple and family feel truly comfortable and special. Come visit the Columbine Bed Breakfast. We would like to show you what hospitality and comfort really means! The Columbine is AAA inspected; Mobil rated; and a charter member of the Louisville Bed Breakfast Association.
