Abingdon and Washington County provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Circle S Farm is 2 1/4 miles from the entrance to the Virginia Creeper Trail, A nationally renowned multi-use trail for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. This 34 mile trail makes a gradual incline to the top of Whitetop Mountain and ends just over the border in North Carolina. Other known area trails include the Appalachian Trail,
Iron Mountain Trail, Daniel Boone Trail, and the 76
Bike Route. The Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, easily accessed from neighboring Damascus, Virginia, has a number of novice and challenging mountain
bike trails as well as the Virginia Horse Trail for trailriders. Also in the immediate area are a number of TVA lakes, all hosting swimming and camping areas as well as fishing, float boats and water sports. South Holston Lake is an easy ten-mile drive from the cottage. Abingdon is home of the world-famous Barter Theatre, the State Theater of Virginia. The downtown area houses a number of antique, specialty and apparel
shops. The Arts Depot and William King Regional Arts
Center have artists-in-residence, galleries and gift
shops. Classes in a variety of media are offered. Carriage rides, providing a relaxed
tour of the historic district, are available. Abingdon and Washington County host a number of fairs and festivals including The Virginia Highlands Festival, one of America's top ten arts, crafts and antique festivals, held annually the first two weeks of August. The Bristol Motor Speedway is just twelve miles south on Interstate 81, and two major NASCAR events are held there each year. The Circle S Farm is a perfect rental for race weekend. Abingdon is home to Federal, Circuit and General District Courts, making this area a frequent destination for the legal community across Virginia. Many
business people rent the cottage for long stays while doing
business in Abingdon and Washington County.

It is considered part of the Tri-cities area, made up of Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee; Kingsport, Tennessee; and Johnson City, Tennessee. Circle S Farm is located within 2 miles of Main Street in Historic Abingdon, Virginia in the Southwest Virginia Mountains. This 48 acre farm is home to a herd of 20 Black Angus Cows/Calves, 1 horse and 2 dogs. It is the best of Country Living while being only minutes from Abingdon's many tourist attractions (See Area Info)
