Rental Condo Investment Opportunity. Chippewa Retreat Resort began in 1998 with the re-development of a portion of land which was once known as Deer Park Lodge. Deer park Lodge existed from about 1906 to 1990 when it ceased operations and was sub-divided for a land sale. Newcomers to the area, Glen and Toni Meyer, purchased what remained of the original resort and renamed it Fox Point sometime during 1992. In 1998, the Meyers sold part of the resort property to CareTakers, the parent company of Chippewa Retreat. After re-development of this property by CareTakers, Chippewa Retreat began operations in the spring of 1999 after remodeling the 1947 vintage vertical log buildings, now know as the North and South Cabins of Chippewa Retreat. In 2000, Chippewa Retreat finished construction of The Cottage adding to its inventory of accommodations, a remodel of a duplex cabin into a beautiful and roomy
3 bedroom home. With what CareTakers considered a proven track record from its success as a high end accommodations resort, in 2002 the company purchased the remainder of Fox Point and began the redevelopment of this property, with its new name being Chippewa Retreat Resort
Spa. At the time of sale, little had been done to the common areas of the property; however, between 1998 and 2002, the Meyers started the remodeling / re-construction of two residential units; now called the Den and the Lair, and partially completed a third unit; now called the Nest. In 2002, immediately after the purchase, CareTakers continued remodeling, completing the Nest and the Perch. By spring of 2003, all 4 condominiums were finished and ready for renting to our guests. Presently, CareTakers is selling these condominiums to buyers who want an investment in property in the Northwoods, but don't want the hassles associated with owning a private home. This investment allows the owner to use the condominium when they want and then rent it to others in their absence. CareTakers totally manages the marketing, rental, maintenance, billing and fee collection for the owners so all they have to do is enjoy their place when they are here and accept income from any rentals when they're not. Anyone interested in this type of investment should refer to the Investment Page of this website by clicking on Investment in the above main menu. Shortly after CareTakers' purchase of the property, common area improvements began with the renovation of the Outdoor
Pool Recreation Area, with its 20' x 60' heated
pool as well as the addition of the Outdoor Double Fireplace under the new Log Cabana. At the same time, CareTakers began construction of the new Lodge facility, building a Northwoods Lodge Entertainment
Room with Caterer's
Kitchen attached and a complete
Fitness Center in its lower level including men's and women's locker
rooms, a
sauna, a
steam room, and a complete muscle toning and cardiovascular exercise
room featuring machines from Life
Fitness®. See the floor plans below. The public is welcome to join the
Fitness Center of Chippewa Retreat through a
Fitness Membership. All guests of Chippewa Retreat may use the
Fitness Center at no charge.

Families staying at Chippewa Retreat never run out of options for getting exercise and enjoying the high level of quality the amenities of the property have to offer in addition to the traditional offerings of the great Northwoods. CareTakers will continue work on the Resort, remodeling the existing 18 unit 1960's motel down by the lake transforming it into 2 luxurious waterfront condominiums; the Lilly Pad and Duck's Blind. Finally, the grounds will be finished with elaborate landscaping throughout. Chippewa Retreat also has this beautiful Fire Pit Area for lounging in the sun, cook outs in the evening and those fabulous Smores in the late evening. Always stocked with firewood and ready to go. At Chippewa Retreat, history confirms that our busiest season will always be summer. In light of that fact, Chippewa Retreat goes to great lengths to supplement the regular housekeeping and grounds staff in the spring, summer and fall with seasonal help. We employ this help so that during the period of May 1 through November 30 each year we can handle the increased
business. We keep on a limited staff the rest of the year so we can offer accommodations during the off season. During the off season, we adjust our rates downward to make it possible for couples to get-a-way for a long week end and use our accommodations, which in all cases are rather large for just a couple of guests. Since our regular staff is seasonally augmented only for the summer season, we do not have this seasonal help in the off season. While our off season rates are lower in the winter, they adjust upward as the number of people (8 years and older) in any particular guest group increases. This additional revenue goes toward the expense required to sub-contract additional labor on an irregular basis during this time of year when the occupancy rates at the Retreat vary due to weather, family schedules and the overall economy. Please be certain that you understand this policy when making reservations in the off season. Thank you. In the off season, couples may be able to get away without the whole family because of school or other commitments. The Double Occupancy policy allows for more affordable rates during the Off Season. The Double Occupancy rate is the rate per night for either the first or first and second person staying. For example, if the Double Occupancy Rate is $150.00/Night, then as long as the reservation is limited to two persons, the rate of $150 applies for each night. However, if there are any persons staying for the reservation who are 8 years and older, the additional per person charge applies; in the case of the condo that is $50/Person/Night. So, regardless of how many
rooms are in the accommodation, if there are 10 persons who are 8 years and older, the rate of $150.00 covers the first 2, and the 8 additional persons stay for an additional $400/Night, or $50/Person/Night for the additional 8 persons. CHECK-IN: after 4:00 PM. CHECK-OUT: before 11:00 AM. There is a charge for pets. This charge is per stay or week, whichever is shorter. See the rate table. While walking your pet around the compound, please have him/her on a leash. We would like you to have him/her relieve in the wood chips and not in the grass, picking up behind if necessary. While in the cabin, he/she may roam freely. However, if you leave the cabin with him/her inside alone, he/she must be kenneled so the staff can enter and exit freely and without disturbing your pet. Of course this works to both the staff's as well as the pet's benefit. Pets must be kenneled when left alone. We provide kennels for pets up to 30 pounds. If larger, you are required to bring your own kennel. We are asking that all of our prospective guests reserving accommodations at Chippewa Retreat fill out and return to us a Deposit Authorization Form. This is simply our way of making sure that we can count on you as guests when you have reserved one of our accommodations. The form will ask that you provide us with a valid credit card and expiration date. In the event that you need to cancel or reschedule your reservation, and there is not ample time for Chippewa Retreat to rebook the dates, your credit card will be charged 50% of the rate that you would have been charged had you followed through with your visit. This form will also allow us to put your charges on the card after your visit or in the event that a guest incurs physical damage to Chippewa Retreat property. Once the form is filled out and returned, Chippewa Retreat will send out the Confirmation Letter, confirming the accommodation and the dates of your arrival and departure. Should there be any special needs requiring extra preparations by our staff, these should also be indicated on the Deposit Authorization Form so Chippewa Retreat can confirm the awareness of these requirements. The Deposit Authorization Form must be on file before Chippewa Retreat will send a Confirmation Letter confirming your reservation. This form must only be completed once and then updated prior to each visit to ensure a valid card number and expiration. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
