The emu is a prehistoric bird thought to have roamed the outback of Australia some 80 million years ago. Emus run at speeds of up to 50 km/h (30 mph) and defend themselves by kicking. Emus swim very well. The male of the species hatches the eggs and raises the young.. Duster loves bananas!
