Known as the finest suites within the downtown Topeka Business District, the Senate is located one block from the Kansas Capitol Building and Judicial Center, eight blocks North of the Expo Center and six blocks from Interstate Highway 70. The structure is of Victorian brick architecture, complete with private balconies. Interior hallways still exhibit the original stucco walls, ornate wood moldings and arched doorways. The Senate Hall Lounge have been refurbished to make groups and receptions feel comfortable and bring to the experience a feeling of home. The lounge is open Monday through Friday, 5:00 - 10:00 pm. From Kansas City International Airport take I-29 North one and a half miles to I-435 South, and I-435 South to I-70 West. You will enter the Turnpike (toll road) West of Kansas City. Follow the Turnpike (I-70 West) to the downtown Topeka Blvd. exit, the toll fee will be approximately $2.00. Continue on I-70 West to the Tenth Madison Street exit, this exit is approximately one and one half miles from the toll booth. Turn left onto Tenth Street, at this point you will be heading West. Proceed West on Tenth Street to Tyler Street. Turn right onto Tyler Street, at this point you will be heading North. Proceed North on Tyler Street to Ninth Street. Turn right onto Ninth Street the Senate Luxury Suites will be on your right. Our front entrance faces Ninth Street. You may park in our loading zone while you register. From North Topeka traveling South on Highway 75, you will cross the Kansas River and come to the I-70 bypass. The highway splits and highway 75 becomes I-70. Stay to the left and follow I-70 East approximately five or six miles to the First Street exit. At the end of the off ramp you will turn left and go about one block. Follow the ramp on your right to Topeka Blvd./Highway 75. This will merge you onto Topeka Blvd. heading South, remain in the right lane. Proceed on Topeka Blvd. to Ninth Street. Turn right onto Ninth Street, you will be heading West. The Senate Luxury Suites will be one half block West on your left. We sit at the Southeast corner of Ninth and Tyler. Our front entrance faces Ninth Street. You may park in our loading zone while you register. From South Topeka take I-35 (Kansas Turnpike) North you will travel to the South Topeka exit. After paying the toll, toll fees vary based on point of embarkation, proceed North on highway 75 bypass. This becomes Topeka Blvd. at about fortieth street. Proceed North on Topeka Blvd. to Ninth Street (approximately 30 blocks) and turn left onto Ninth Street, you will be heading West, proceed about a half a block. The Senate Luxury Suites leases on a nightly, weekly and monthly basis. Most rooms range from $80.00 to $120.00 per night for double occupancy with a $10.00 charge per additional adult. The hot tub suite is available for $175 per night. Government, corporate, AARP and AAA discounts are available. Children age 12 and under stay free. A $25 fee will be charged for all cancellations.
