Built in 1830, this once one-room Schoolhouse from Washington, LA, appropriately named Schoolhouse, is a wonderful cottage with it's 12 foot ceilings, stenciling and Americana theme. Complete with 2-person Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, large bedroom with queen size iron bed. Fully equipped kitchen, large sitting room. Baton Rouge, our state capitol, is 45 minutes away, and New Orleans, is only 2 hrs. River Road Plantations are only about an hour's drive with such breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. Take the I-10 Breaux Bridge Exit- 109. After you exit the interstate, go north, 1.9 miles and turn left on Poche Bridge Road. Go to the end of this road and take a right. Go about one block and turn left on Hwy 341. Go 1.5 miles (on the right you'll see our blue and white state hwy. signCajun Country Cottages) turn left on Lawless Tauzin Rd. Go almost to the end. We are before the white picket fence. (*at night head in the direction of the security light at the end of the road.) We are before the light and the white picket fence. Look for our blue and white state highway sign on the right that says Cajun Country Cottages. Turn left and follow the little gravel road along the fence line to the large Acadian house in the back. (*at night you'll see the yellow porch lights and lighted wreath on front porch). This is the OFFICE. ** If we are not in the office when you arrive we will leave an envelope at the front door of the office in a wire basket hanging by the right front door.
