Come and stay with us and Unwind and relax in this beautiful part of North Wales. Situated on the North West Boundary of the Snowdonia National Park, The Old School provide the ideal base for families, walkers, climbers, cyclists and other activities. We are within easy reach of Snowdon and its neighbouring mountains. Networks of footpaths and bridleways around us have been reopened offering a unique link from Snowdon along the classic Nantlle Ridge Walk to the contrasting Lleyn Peninsular and Bardsey Island. Nearby Lon Eifion, now part of the Sus-Trans cycle network, is a safe, quiet and attractive route for walks, runners, cyclists and wheelchair users. It follows the old railway line from Caernarfon to Bryncir with a link to Criccieth along quiet country lanes. Tremadog lies a few miles away, a busy centre for climbers all year round. For the less energetic visitor the beaches and marinas of Criccieth (6 miles), Pwllheli (10 miles) and Abersoch (16 miles) are well worth a visit. Further north Anglesey's beaches and coves are within an hours drive. Secluded beaches which can be almost empty even in July. The historic town of Caernarfon with its Royal connections has much to offer - the castle, museums, harbour, airport with pleasure flights, newly opened Welsh Highland Railway and many other attractions. The road south takes you to Porthmadog, a bustling town with its Maritime Museum, Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway, and Black Rock Sands nearby. The magical Italianate village of Portmerion is a short distance from Porthmadog - an ideal place for a leisurely day's outing. Wherever your interest lie, this area has much to offer - the glorious scenery, the fascinating heritage and history, the wealth of activities and innumerable attractions for all ages to give our visitors a Taste of Wales. Although the weatherman may forecast rain on the mountains, here, across the valley on the edge of the Lleyn Peninsular, the sun often shines. to see whats on in North Wales. www.bnb-directory.com.
