The Villa has been the highlight of all my vacations. You, and your dedicated staff are awesome; so attentive to detail, it is amazing. Your food was delicious, not to mention your perfect Margaritas at the
pool. My family and I have encouraged our friends to stay at your Villa. Thank you so much for a wonderful time. Eva Maria del Rio, del Rio Advertising, Texas, Usa We rented your Villa to accommodate our whole family for our 10. Family Reunion, and it was fantastic! The
bedrooms were great; each
room had its own unique character. The activities and the service made our reunion an unforgettable event. We're coming back next year! Angelo y Sharon Veneziano, New Jersey, Usa. A Personal Recommendation for the Villa Mia by Ken York. Villa Mia is very much beyond anything that I could have hoped for. I am the Travel Correspondent for Cigar Magazine and have had the opportunity to travel around the world staying at five-star resorts. I would rate the Villa Mia at seven stars. No joke, we enjoyed it that much. To help you understand our reference, our daughters
wedding had about 60 guests for five days. We rented the Villa Mia, Casa Gran Dia and put some short term guests in the Casa Iguana Hotel down the road. The Villa Mia staff honored our request and served all meals for our five days at the Villa Mia for our 60 guests.
Breakfast and
dinner were sit-down and
lunch was served
buffet-style by the
pool, but they would have served the food on the roof if we had asked them. We used the Villa Mia as the focal point of our days activities. The villa, its
rooms, views,
bars and
pools were breathtaking. Throughout the week, I constantly had people coming up to me in wide-eyed amazement, thanking me profusely for making the Villa Mia possible and inviting them. It is hard to believe that the Villa Mia exists. It was built with an attention to detail combined with a whimsical panache. The pictures of the villa on the
Internet do not do it justice. It is a hundred times better in reality. The views are magnificent and the facilities are superb. Most of the
rooms open out to the bay with no obstructions. One note of caution, tell your guests if they go out into the bay at the base of the hill, wear water shoes. There are sea anemones in the water that are easy to step on. By the way, you may want to arrange your guests based on their ability to climb stairs. From the
pool deck to the Mexico
suite at the top of the villa was 80 stairs. Service The service at the villas was superb. The staff ran by Julian is constantly in motion, making sure of every detail. Julian and his staff were supremely helpful and worked hard to ensure that everyone had an excellent time. He works with you to establish a menu for your guests, which includes such items as lobsters,
grilled shrimp, and other delicacies. At every meal they accommodated two vegetarians, one guest with severe food allergies, and one cranky granddaughter that would only eat cheese Quesadillas. The
rooms were kept immaculate.
Bar service was constantly available up to 10:00 pm, then the guests took over as bartenders. The staff works from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily and is 100 percent dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. They will do everything from getting you a
taxi to tracking down a digital camera left behind in a
taxi. By the end of the week, most guests were trying to figure out how to smuggle the staff home with them. Meals Every meal that you eat at the Villa Mia is freshly prepared. No one who ate their meals at the villa ever got sick during our stay. Most of those who had got sick had ventured to a downtown
restaurant at some point. The food was of such high quality that my daughter-in-law had no problem offering it to her year old son and he enjoyed all of it without problems.
Tours The
tours coordinated by the Villa were excellent. If I can make a suggestion, limit the
tours for your guests to an activity or two a day (e.g., Jungle Canopy
tour on Tuesday). You, or your family, dont want to spend your week arranging for people to go on
tours. I often had people coming up to me asking to join a
tour and others wanting to stop going on a
tour that they had signed up for. Use the message board provided by the villa to post the schedule, tell your guests that they are responsible for
meeting their transportation and wash your hands of it. The
Wedding We had exchanged a number of emails with Vanina in planning the
wedding. My daughter found pictures of the type of cake she wanted and bouquet that she wanted. Vanina worked with her vendors to ensure exact replicas. The more you can tell Vanina about how you want your
wedding to occur the better she can make it happen. Her taste is impeccable and her standard of service is the best. We had thought of using a different
wedding coordinator than Vanina, but are so happy that we went with her. Obviously her staff if professional enough to work with anyone you ask them to work with, but they already have a solid relationship with Vanina and work overtime to make sure things are done as she requests. She has both a natural flair for organization and design. She is creative in nature and will not lead you astray. In every instance that I questioned in my mind a cost, the reality exceeded my expectation. For instance, I questioned the $450 an hour charge for the Mariachi band thinking of three to four musicians. In reality the Mariachi Band was a ten-piece band that was completely astonishing. For two hours our guests were in awe of their talent. When we had a problem with our
videographer, Vanina was willing to demand a full refund for us. She is a great coordinator and you should take advantage of her talents. My wife is a detailed-oriented fanatic. If we had tried to pull this
wedding off in the United States, or through a less-skilled
wedding coordinator than Vanina, I would have had to use a CO2 fire extinguisher on her. Of course there was still stress during the
wedding, but in every instance Vanina or her staff were up to the challenge and it made my life a thousand percent better. During the week after the
wedding, my wife and I had flowers sent to us along with a dozen thank you cards from our guests profusely thanking us for giving them the best week of their lives. It was that good! Sincerely, Ken C. York. Erin O`Connor (
