Some excerpts from the website of Uncompahgre Lodge that might be useful
Wild Bird
Room: also has some other animal pictures, but I favor the birds. Hunters prefer this more masculine decor. A wild pheasant is taking off over the
TV armour. A fishing rod, creel, hat with lures and net arrangement are seen as you enter. Two queen beds and a single hideabed offer more sleeping
room. Bed down the family here in the north facing
room, in view of the Grand Mesa if you can get past the enormous blue spruce outside the window. Noisy birds inhabit that tree in season. Romantic French Country
Jacuzzi Room: You've escaped to France. Peruse books on Normandy and Brittany; then call your travel agent. Over the mantle of the electric log fireplace is an oil painting of a French country scene. The two-person
jacuzzi sits in an alcove in view of the fireplace. A
tub-
shower is in the
bathroom. Relax on the duck down featherbed which fluffs up the top of the king bed. Order
breakfast in the
room if you wish. Native American
Room: amazingly the two queen quilts which have Indian patterns and colors fit the theme. A lucky dream catcher hangs between pictures of natives. A wolf in a beautiful frame stands guard. Two comfy upholstered rockers make this a great
room for reading or watching
satellite TV - maybe a good TCM
movie. Other rustic decor items add to the ambiance. Safari
Room: you missed out on a safari, but now you are here. Black mosquito netting over two queen beds, pith helmet and animal pictures. A large stuffed lion has been loved a little too much by visiting children. Park the kids here with their favorite DVD while you enjoy adult conversation at
breakfast. African textures add to the ambiance. Sailing
Room: Sail away to dreamland on the old schooner in the picture. If you like cozy, this is our smallest
room with a single queen bed; the
bathroom has a large
shower. An old salty captain steers the helm. Our favorite lighthouse, the Portland Head, is in miniature on the highboy. So if you are in an Atlantic Ocean mood, this is the
room. Spanish Flamenco
Room: inspired by pictured flamenco dancers who stay with us at our BB in Woodstock, IL. The
room decor has a lot of South American influence. Your aching back will appreciate the two queen bed mattresses with surface softness on solid state foundations. French Provincial
Room: our only handicap
room with a king bed, changeable to twins with a standard sofabed. Challenged folks use the ramp to get in and out. The
room is in shades of plum with cream colored
furniture. A charming painting of two infantes hangs over the bed. Click to return to home page. Site hosted and marketed by
