Walking Weekend for singles and couples July 2008 in the Beautiful Wye Valley. Come and spend a weekend in our lovely Country House Hotel set in the Golden Valley and over-looking the Black Mountains. Its the perfect venue for a walking break house party, and a great way to meet new friends and to explore the glorious countryside on the doorstep of the hotel. Walking is acknowledged as a fantastic way reduce the risk of heart problems and osteoporosis as well as a great way to relieve stress and recharge your batteries. The weekend will begin on the Friday night with a welcome drink, a buffet and the chance to meet your fellow walkers. Those who are keen to fit in an additional walk can arrive early and take one of our self guided walks that start and finish at the hotel. On Saturday, after a hearty Full English Breakfast, an all day walk of approximately 10 miles is planned, with a more leisurely option of a 5 mile walk for those who prefer to amble rather than ramble. There will be several refreshment breaks and a picnic lunch. Both groups will meet up at a charming local hostelry. On returning to the hotel there is also the option of a free stretch class taken by a qualified fitness instructor which will take place in the conference room. In the evening, a delicious 3 course meal will be served. On Sunday after breakfast the group will set out from the hotel on a half day walk of approximately 5 miles. On returning to the hotel, those who are leaving us can collect their bags and check-out, those remaining for an extra night have the option of taking Sunday lunch at the hotel, followed by a leisurely afternoon of exploring the town, or relaxing or for the more energetic we have an additional self guided walk available.
