For many years, water traffic was the main mode of transportation in this region. Take a
trip back in time and cruise Moosehead Lake on the antique steamboat the Katahdin. The area has several boat cruises that provide moose watching, fishing, and beautiful scenery, so bring your camera and capture the moment. The Shirley Bog is just 2 miles from the Evergreen Lodge and mid-May to late June is the best time to sight a variety of birds there. Loons, warblers and chickadees abound. Click onto to learn more about birding in the Moosehead area. If you enjoy canoeing or kayaking, this is where you will want to be! The area boasts many secluded ponds. BREAKNECK RIDGE FARM. Here is your chance to learn how trees are harvested, maple syrup is made and buffalo are raised. The owners, Stephen Diana Hobart, will gladly share their experiences with you during a guided
tour. Year round private

If fly-fishing is your choice, we have many small ponds and crystal clear streams to test your skills! See the Maine wilderness up close and personal. Go looking for moose by canoe, kayak, pontoon boat, or van. Local Registered Maine Guides are eager to assist you in your search for the elusive Maine moose. We can assist you in booking a moose safari adventure. Now for the adventurous, you can go on a
trip of a lifetime with area whitewater rafters on Class III-V conditions. BICYCLE
TOURS MOUNTAIN BIKING. Bicycle touring and mountain biking have become increasingly popular. Talk to the folks at Northwoods Outfitters or Henry Gilbert at Jamo;s Pizza if you want firsthand knowledge of the best biking trails in the area. HIKING MOUNTAIN CLIMBING. The Moosehead Lake Region offers many local hiking trails, ranging from easy to challenging. One of the area favorites is beautiful Gulf Hagas, which is known as the;Grand Canyon of Maine;. If it;s mountains you want to climb, then we offer Squaw, Kineo, Spencer, Borestone, Elephant and more. The well-known 5,267 ft. Mt. Katahdin, in Baxter State Park, is within easy driving distance. Golf near Moosehead Lake! Seaplane operation on Moosehead Lake offers a unique experience for the adventuresome. Our area seaplane services include: Moosehead Lobster Lake. Moose Watches: Go in search of wildlife in their natural environment. Whether it be a moose or an eagle, our pilots know where they are likely to be, and can lead you to view them without being obtrusive.
A 50% deposit is required at time of reservation. Book
6 rooms for 2 or more consecutive nights and receive a 10% discount on lodging. 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. May 16-19, 2008 and December 8-24, 2008. Cancellation Policy: 21 days before your stay. You will be charged the entire amount of your reservation if we are unable to re-rent your
room. * No refunds for early departures. *. If reserving 3 or more

Airport: (1 hrs driving time) Take Godfrey Blvd from the
airport to Union St. Turn left onto Union St go approx mile. Turn right onto Griffin Rd go approx 1 1/2 miles to Rte 15. Turn left onto Broadway/Rte 15. It's approx 42 miles to Guilford. In Guilford take a sharp right at a 5-way intersection to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From
Bar Harbor: (2 - 3 hrs driving time) Take Rte 3 from
Bar Harbor to Ellsworth. In Ellsworth take Rte 1A to Bangor. In Bangor take Rte 15/Broadway to Guilford. In Guilford take a sharp right at a 5-way intersection to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From Belfast: (2 hrs driving time) Take Rte 7 to Newport Dexter. In Dexter take Rte 23 to Guilford. In Guilford take a left onto Rte 15 North. Continue until you come to a 5-way intersection. Take a sharp right to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From Baxter State Park: (2 hrs driving time) Take the Golden Rd west to Ripogenus Lake area, then south to Greenville Rd. Greenville Rd takes you to Kokadjo. Take Lily Bay Rd south to the flashing light in Greenville. It is approx 18 miles from Kokadjo to the flashing light in Greenville. The Evergreen Lodge is 5.5 miles south on Rte 15 on your right. From Calais: (3 hrs driving time) Take Rte 9 to Bangor. In Bangor take Rte 15/Broadway to Guilford. In Guilford take a sharp right at a 5-way intersection to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From Houlton: (3 hrs driving time) Take I-95 to Millinocket exit 244. In Millinocket take Rte 11 to Milo. In Milo take Rte 6 to Dover-Foxcroft. In Dover-Foxcroft take Rte 15 North. In Guilford take a sharp right at a 5-way intersection to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From New Hampshire/Vermont: (1 hr driving time from Newport to Evergreen Lodge) Take Rte 2 too Newport, Maine. In Newport take Rte 7 to Dexter. In Dexter take Rte 23 to Guilford. In Guilford take a left onto Rte 15 North. Continue until you come to a 5-way intersection. Take a sharp right to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From Kittery Portsmouth: (4 hrs driving time) From Kittery take I-95 north to Newport exit 157. In Newport take Rte 7 to Dexter. In Dexter take Rte 23 to Guilford. In Guilford take a left to get on Rte 15 North. Continue until you come to a 5-way intersection. Take a sharp right to stay on Rte 15. It is approx 20 miles to the Evergreen Lodge. We're on the left at the top of a hill. From Quebec: (4 hrs driving time) Take Autoroute 73 south to Route 173 south. Follow to the border crossing in Jackman, Maine. Go through the town of Jackman then turn left onto Rte 15 south to Greenville. At the flashing light in Greenville, take a right to stay on Rte 15. The Evergreen Lodge is 5.5 miles south on Rte 15 on your right.
