Laundry facilities by arrangement. Guests at Home Farm Cottages also have: in decked area with views over the Loxton Valley available April - September (small charge per session). We can also make the hot
tub available at other times of year by special arrangement. Please ask for details. Access to our enclosed field providing a large play area for children. Please be aware that: Smoking is not permitted inside the cottages. We do not accommodate pets at Home Farm Cottages. To view the virtual

computer.
A full range of leisure facilities are available at Hutton Moor and Cheddar leisure
centres, both within 10 minutes drive. Activities locally, include horse riding, walking the numerous public footpaths, fishing at Blagon / Chew Valley lakes, cycling, dry slope
skiing. Places of interest include Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole,
Bath, Bristol, Wells, Weston-Super-Mare, Longleat and many National Trust properties. Barton is a small farming community lying at the foot of the Mendip Hills in a recognised area of outstanding natural
beauty. The National Trust area of Wavering Down and Crook Peak are only a few minutes walk away. There are many footpaths and bridleways giving superb views of the Somerset levels, the Brecon Beacons and the Quantocks. For the more adventurous, why not try the Mendip Way long distance walk. Within easy distance, Home Farm visitors have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of attractions -
golf, horse riding, walking, fishing, cycling, swimming,
windsurfing plus dry slope
skiing, caving, abseiling and sand yachting. Local wildlife and produce. For nature lovers, the Somerset Wetlands and Limestone Gorges, plus the hilltops and woodlands of the Mendips offer the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife and plants. Tasty Cheddar cheese, Somerset cider and wine from local vineyards, all add to the flavour and colour of the area, as do Cheddar strawberries in early summer. For the historically minded, the area has archaeological sites to visit, with a multitude of myths and legends especially around the town of Glastonbury.
Bath, Cardiff and Stonehenge are all within an easy days travelling. Somerset has many museums - for further details visit
www.somerset.gov.uk/museums. At Street there is the famous Clarks Village Factory
Outlet shopping complex selling quality seconds at competitive prices. Bristol and
Bath both have large shopping
centres, and smaller back street 'boutique' and antique
shops catering far all tastes. Sally Lunn's, oldest house in
Bath (1680), is a must for
tea. - home of the original Sally Lunn Bun. Distances of attractions from Barton. Barton is an excellent base for discovering the countryside, coast and neighbouring towns and villages. Cheddar, with its world famous gorge is only 5 miles away. Wells, (15 miles) is the smallest Cathedral City in England. Another must is Glastonbury and the famous Tor (19 miles). Bristol (16 miles),
Bath (28 miles) and Taunton (28 miles) are within easy distance. Weston super Mare (6 miles) is the nearest beach resort and large town with a full range of shopping and entertainment facilities. Other nearby coastal towns of Clevedon and Burnham on Sea offer their own delights. Local village of Winscombe. For local purchases, Winscombe (2 miles) has a range of
shops and
banks, a post
office, dentist, optician, bakery,
pub, plus food takeaways. A rural bus service is available from Winscombe. Nearest train station is at Worle. for further information on things to do

3-bedroom cottage. Upstairs consists of two large
double bedrooms, each with a double and single bed for maximum flexibility, with plenty of
room for a cot as well. Downstairs there is a fully fitted

breakfast bar; a comfortable
living room; a
family bathroom; a separate additional

The Hayloft is a converted stone barn with exposed beams providing a
two-bedroom cottage, the
double bedroom on the ground floor and the
twin bedroom on the first floor. The first floor galleried
lounge/diner has hand made pine
furniture, comfortable settees and a sofa bed. On the ground floor is a full
kitchen and
bathroom with electric
shower over. The Hayloft has its own lawned area with seating and private

kitchen - a romantic hideaway. On the first floor there is a
double bedroom with
shower room ensuite, and a fully fitted

lounge/diner on the heavily beamed ground floor area with large inglenook fireplace containing a working wood-burning fire. The original copper washing
tub is built into the stonework adjacent to the fireplace. A basket of logs is available for cold evenings. This cottage adjoins the farmhouse
courtyard.

drink. Come and sample / purchase produce from throughout the region at the first Somerset food and
drink festival in Shepton Mallet 8th/9th March. Open Cockpit days allow visitors to have a rare opportunity to access the cockpits and controls of selected helicopters and have the controls explained by an experienced guide. Game Fair - bringing the countryside to life. Location: Shepton Mallet 15th and 16th March. The annual Easter Monday Daffodil Festival in the beautiful village of Mells. Includes many stalls in the streets, classic cars, fairground attractions, live music, entertainments and refreshments. 24th March.
Steam Gala weekend features lots of engines, freight trains as well as our normal passenger services. A busy day with lots going on for everyone, whether family, photographer, or enthusiast. steam train- the perfect combination! Meet local suppliers, taste their products and take some home for later. Location: Cranmore, Nr Shepton Mallet on 26th and 27th April. The North Somerset Show, on the first
Bank Holiday Monday in May, is taking place at Wraxall near Bristol. The show not only features cattle, sheep, pigs, horses and llamas, it is the only agricultural show in the South West to have a tractor pull. 5th May. The Royal
Bath West Show celebrates all aspects of farming and rural life, from the best of British livestock to the latest technological innovations in the farming industry. The show offers a wonderful day out for the whole family. Location: Prestleigh, Nr Shepton Mallet from 28th May to 31st May. Glastonbury Festival is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. To buy a
ticket for Glastonbury 2008, you MUST first register during February. Location: Pilton, Nr Shepton Mallet. From: 27th June to 29th June.
The small hamlet of Barton is with easy reach of all parts of the UK being just 4.5 miles from Junction 21 of the M5. Trains call at Weston super Mare - Bristol International

From Junction 21 on the M5, take the A370 towards Weston Super Mare. At the first roundabout, take the first left (signed Banwell). In Banwell, turn left at the T junction,(A371) passing through the village up the hill (the road narrows here). At the brow of the hill you will pass Banwell Castle on your right. After the
garden centre on your right and just beyond the Mooseheart building on your left, take the next right, Church Road (signed Loxton and Barton). Then right again after1/4 mile into Barton Road. Continue for 1.3 miles until the road narrows. Just after here, you'll see Home Farm on the right. Approaching from the South on M5. From Junction 22 on the M5 follow the A38 North towards Bristol
Airport. After just over 8 miles, in Sidcot, take a left turn, signed A371 Weston super Mare and Winscombe. Pass through Winscombe village under the Railway Bridge and take the first left, signed Barton. After 1/4 mile turn right into Barton Road, signed Barton. Continue for approx. 1.3 mile to where the road narrows. Just after here, you'll see Home Farm on the right. Approaching from Bristol on A38. Travelling from Bristol on the A38 continue south until the traffic lights at Sidcot. Turn right signed Weston and Winscombe (A371). Pass through Winscombe village under the Railway Bridge and take the first left, signed Barton. After 1/4 mile turn right into Barton Road, signed Barton. Continue for approx. 1.3 mile to where the road narrows. Just after here, you'll see Home Farm on the right.
