Hood recreational area. Easy off and on Highway 26. Brookside is an ideal location for overflow wedding guests, graduations, reunions, and other large gatherings. About Sandy, Oregon: Sandy is called the Gateway to Mount Hood. Sandy was originally named Revenue because of Francis Revenue's nearby land claim and the location of the Barlow Trail's toll gate on Revenue's claim from 1853 to 1865. The town was able to use the name Sandy only after Troutdale gave up the use of the name at the turn of the century. Turn left onto Burnside. Burnside becomes Highway 26 take highway 26 through Sandy follow to approximately Milepost 28: SE Paha Loop (3 miles from Sandy) right onto SE Paha Loop right at the first driveway on right.
