Accommodation at the Charles Bathurst Inn. Tasteful yet comfortable, the CB offers guests a choice of 19 bedrooms, each individually decorated to compliment the stunning views overlooking the Stang and Arkengarthdale that can be enjoyed from every room. Deep red walls, exposed beams, cast iron bed frames and beautiful antique chests all contribute to the rustic charm of the rooms, all finished to a high standard yet retaining an informal feel, where guests feel they are getting quality accommodation at affordable prices a place where they can relax and feel at home. There are 14 double and 5 twin bedrooms and all offer modern facilities including en suite shower rooms or bathrooms, central heating and colour television. There is also a lounge exclusively for use of residents complete with comfy sofas. An ideal place to relax after a brisk walk over the dales. 2008 Tariff Accommodation Charges From: Double/Twin En-suite. Futons for children (sharing parents room). Above rates are per room per night and include full English breakfast and Vat. (single rates available). Food at the Charles Bathurst Inn. The CB Inn has built up an enviable reputation for fine food, mainly due to its commitment to using only the best seasonal, local produce but also to its team of experienced and dedicated chefs, to see a typical menu. In a desire to turn out only meals of the highest quality, the Cody's recently invested a significant £200,000 in installing a top of the range kitchen at the CB, which has enabled the team of chefs to cater efficiently for the growing numbers of clientele. The CB prides itself on knowing the provenance of all its foods and wine, so as well as enjoying the beautiful scenery you can enjoy outstanding food and drink. The Inn takes delivery of fresh local lamb and beef from Swale Hall, Grinton, reared and butchered in the area and Game is shot locally from the surrounding moors according to season. Fresh fish is delivered daily from Hartlepool six days a week and fresh fruit and vegetables are supplied by Carricks of Snape. The range of mouth watering dishes on offer can be found on the striking 'mirror menu' that hangs above the open fireplace and is changed daily in accordance with the fresh produce delivered that day, depending on quality and time of year. Dishes can range from a hearty lunch of Pot Roast Shoulder of Lamb with a White Wine, Honey and Tomato Sauce washed down with a pint of Black Sheep Yorkshire Bitter, delivered straight from the Brewery at Masham, or a more sophisticated evening meal of line caught Wild Sea Bass, Smoked Salmon Mousseline on Roasted Root Vegetables, complimented by a choice from the CB Inn wine list compiled by award winning local wine merchants Playford Ros of Thirsk.

The Yorkshire Dales Local Area. Standing in and among some of the most spectacular scenery the Yorkshire Dales has to offer, is the 18th Century CB Inn. Situated in Arkengarthdale, a tributary valley of Swaledale and once the centre of a thriving local lead mining industry, the CB Inn offers an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and make the most of what this beautiful dale has to offer. The Inn itself is centred between several small market towns, each with its own unique character and appeal and is an ideal place to stay for not only walkers but also those who enjoy strolling around village markets and shops. Five miles down the road is Reeth, a bustling village with a lively community and a regular Friday market. Another ten miles is the more sizeable town of Richmond, famed for its Georgian Theatre Castle as well as its many shops and tearooms. A regular market is also hosted in the square. A stunning drive over Buttertubs Pass, through spectacular mountain roads will lead you to Hawes, the main market town of Wensleydale, with a working Rope Maker and a recently refurbished Dales Countryside Museum.
