Built in 1897, Carlton House is a large Victorian town house which has been lovingly restored. Central heating and double glazing has been installed for additional comfort. Whether visiting us for business or pleasure, our facilities provide friendly informal surroundings where you can relax after a long day. Our 5 luxurious bedrooms have individual character and are tastefully furnished, being en-suite or with a private bathroom. Being small and friendly enables us to give more attention to our guests and enables us to offer a personal service. All our rooms have remote colour TV and a welcome tray and are serviced and towels changed daily. Nightime beverages, hairdryer, alarm clock, iron and shoe cleaning materials are available on request. For an Extra Special Stay. A hearty Yorkshire breakfast is served in our elegant dining room, with an extensive choice of menu catering for all tastes including vegetarian and special diets. Carlton House is ideally situated in the historic market town of Skipton, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, being only a 3 minute walk from the town centre with its medieval castle, bustling open air market on the cobbled setts, canalside walks and cruises, and a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and tourist attractions. Skipton Castle dates back some 900 years and is one of the most complete and well preserved castles in England. The nearby Bolton Abbey estate, owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire with its riverside walks and 12th century priory, is well worth a visit as is the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway which starts just outside the town. Stepping-stones across the Gill lead to open fells and are the start of many recognised walks of various lengths to suit all abilities. The Carlton House provides an ideal base for exploring the idyllic Dales countryside with something for everyone, close by.
