Whitby Backpackers is a well established backpackers that is also well known as Harbour Grange Backpackers. We sleep max. 24 people in 5 rooms with full size bunk beds. The rooms sleep 1x2, 2x4, 1x6, 1x8 - all on the ground floor of the house you can see on our home page. Family rooms are available on request. The price for 2008 is 15 per night based on dormitories, groups 250 per night; with 1 extra for hiring of sheets if you havent got your own. Sleeping bags are OK to use as well. The Kitchen has very good self catering facilities and the hostel is open all day For everyone's best interest there is a curfew at 11.30pm (quiet at midnight) and the premises are non smoking. Harbour Grange is beautifully situated on the River Esk, and here you can sit outside the house and enjoy our fantastic view. What better way to unwind after a long day!
Whitby And Surroundings. Whitby Backpackers at Harbour Grange is only 10 minutes walk to the sea and beaches. If you don't fancy a swim you can walk the long sandy beach (45 min walk) to Sandsend, a lovely little village with cliff walks around the old quarries and forest walks in Mullgrave Woods. You can also walk the cliff path to Robin Hoods Bay (approx. three hours) with spectacular views all the way. Whitby is a beautiful little Sea town with cobbled streets and historic buildings. Here you can find shops that sell Jet Jewellery and Museums like the Captain Cook Museum and the Pannet Park Museum which has the second best selection of fossils in the country. Whitby is an old and interesting town that you are sure to enjoy exploring. The town is adjacent to the North York Moors National Park.
