How to get to Zermatt by car Zermatt is a car-free resort. Access for private transport is only allowed as far as. (5km from Zermatt). The road from Tasch to Zermatt is not open to public transport. There are open-air public car parks. (1,800 spaces) and covered private car parks (1,300 spaces) in Tasch. The also have outside parking spaces and operate a taxi service to and from Zermatt operated by the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway also run every 20 minutes.
