Hotel Union is one of Norways most popular conference hotels. We can cater for up to 500 guests in cooperation with the neighbouring hotels, and 200 guests can stay in single rooms at Hotel Union. The social setting is all important for a successful event, and all meals and activities take place at our hotel. No one goes out at night in Geiranger, so the entire party stays together all evening. We have been organising small and large conferences for over 25 years. Our strengths are capacity, expertise and flexibility. We want our guests to feel as if they have plenty of room, light and fresh air even though several events are taking place simultaneously. The international cuisine at our hotel adds extra flavour to all types of events. We can also organise special activities for our course and conference guests, both indoors and outdoors.

Our aim is to present local, traditional ingredients in Norwegian dishes, but with menus selected from other parts of the world. All our food is home-made, from the basics and up, and every year we send our chefs out travelling around the world to bring back inspiration for new dishes, preferably using local ingredients. Our main culinary attraction is the Union Buffet, with a wide selection of various warm and cold dishes, fish and shellfish, salads, cured meats and cold meats, sweet buffet with cakes and home-made desserts, ice-cream counter, fruit and cheese platters. We provide menus for all types of events. We can also organise outdoors events in our garden, on the fjord or at a mountain farm. And if you are setting off on one of the many treks along the Geirangerfjord, we prepare a delicious packed lunch for your rucksack. We enjoy the challenge of any special requirements.

Welcome to nature at it's best where mountain walls surround magnificent fjords, draped with wonderful waterfalls. Hotel Union Geiranger has more than 100 years of tradition in providing quality service to its guests. Today, the fourth generation of the Mjelva family run the hotel. Our hotel rooms and lounges are spacious, yet guests still remember our hotel as an intimate place to stay. You feel the space more than you see it. Hotel Union has just been refurbished this year, with comfortable furniture and small, cosy corners. The hotel looks out over the Geirangerfjord, now inscribed on UNESCOs World Heritage List. A stay at Hotel Union is also a culinary delight as our chefs combine years of local traditions with quality ingredients and their very own flair for food. We have one of the worlds most fabulous collections of veteran cars, all in first-class condition, and available for short drives with our guests around the beautiful countryside. Welcome! Best regards The Mjelva family and Staff. Tel: +47 70 26 83 00. Fax: +47 70 26 83 50. Mail: Adress: HOTEL UNION, 6216 Geiranger. NORWAY.

Geiranger on the World Heritage List. Geirangerfjord is recognised as the worlds most beautiful fjord. The scenery here is magnificent, wild and stunning. With the fjord, waterfalls and steep mountains, Geiranger has become one of Norways most popular tourist attractions. The areas surrounding Naroyfjord and Geirangerfjord are ranked amongst the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world. The fjords are flanked by steep mountainsides towering from 500 metres below the waters surface to heights of 1400 metres. Over these steep mountainsides, numerous waterfalls throw themselves down towards the fjord, one more beautiful than the next, while countless rivers tumble down from jagged mountains, glaciers and lakes, running through thick forest and down to the fjord. In 2005, UNESCO decided to inscribe Geirangerfjord and Naroyfjord with surrounding areas on its UNESCO World Heritage List, for the worlds most important sites of cultural and natural heritage. This is Norways first site of natural heritage on this prestigious list, well earned due to the areas outstanding geological value and the unique and stunning landscapes.

The hotel is surrounded by wonderful countryside, both summer and winter. There are innumerable options for walks or longer hikes along waymarked footpaths, fjord cruises past the waterfalls, excursions to mountain farms, daytrip to the city of Alesund or swimming under the stars during the winter. You dont even have to go outdoors to find something to do. Go back in time at the veteran car museum or just relax by the fire place.
