Room Photo Tour Rates. This cozy room is located on the first floor and has a full-size antique iron bed and a private bath with a clawfoot soaking tub and shower. Enjoy one of the simple pleasures of life...the luxury of soaking in a tub full of bubbles up to your chin after a busy day of sightseeing. The Victorian era is captured in the Whistler Room with its lovely forest green and burgundy rose print wallpaper. This beautifully appointed room is located on the first floor and has a queen-size canopy bed and a private bath with shower. Decorated with gingham checks, country quilts, natural wood, hand-stencilled walls, and a queen-size sleigh bed, the Black Swan Room is the epitome of rustic country charm! This room also has a private bath with shower and a private entrance. Enter a country fresh world of soft pink and green in this L shaped suite. Enjoy views of the forest from your private sitting room with a mini-fridge for keeping your snacks and beverages chilled. Snuggle into the bed chamber with its queen-size bed and private bath with shower. Tucked away in the back of the carriage house, this bright and airy, very private hideaway has a queen four-poster bed, a private bath with shower, and a deck overlooking the forest. There are plenty of windows to let the fresh mountain air in, and vaulted ceilings with skylights. A beauty! The Swan Lake Loft is the most spacious, and the most rustic, of all the rooms. Knotty pine walls are decorated with wreaths, baskets, quilts, and country antiques. Large skylights offer clear views of the stars at night. This popular room has two queen-size beds, private bath with shower, a mini-fridge to keep your snacks and beverages chilled, and a cozy sitting area to write postcards or read a book. Please note: This room will accommodate a maximum of three (3) guests. There is an additional $30 charge per night for the third guest. All room rates include a hearty full breakfast, assume single or double occupancy, and are subject to Maine Lodging tax (7%). Rates may vary during Holidays and Special Events Weekends. The museum offers a nationally recognized collection of American art in its elegantly appointed galleries. Its Wyeth Center exclusively features works of Andrew, N.C. and Jamie Wyeth--America's first family of art. Maine's Lighthouse Museum. One of the largest collections of lighthouse material in America, including working foghorns, flashing lights, search and rescue gear, Coast Guard buoys, bells and boats, is found in this museum. Owl's Head Transportation Museum. The museum has one of the finest collections of pioneer-era aircraft and automobiles in the world. More than 100 historic aircraft, automobiles, bicycles, carriages and engines are on permanent display. Penobscot Marine Museum. This is Maine's Oldest Maritime Museum with exhibits of maritime art, industries of the penobscot bay, small craft boat collection, multi building historic village, and seasonal events. Bay Chamber Concerts. Bay Chamber Concerts brings to the Midcoast some of the most respected names in classical, jazz, world music and dance. Camden Civic Theatre. The Camden Civic Theatre, as part of the many public and private organizations that enrich the community through the performing arts, has provided entertainment for more then three decades to the Midcoast. Built in 1894, the Opera House over the years has hosted town meetings, concerts, grand balls and a steady stream of notable performers such as Lillian Gish and Mae West. Today the Opera House is home to a variety of events. Local school children perform in school plays and concerts. The Camden Civic Theatre presents a lively and varied array of community theatre and notable entertainers throughout the year. Bayview Street Cinema. Conveniently located downtown, this single screen theatre provides a welcome diversion from the large multi-screen cinemas. Camden Hills State Park. This 5,500 acre park offers 30 miles of hiking trails with access from five major trail heads (the Mt. Battie trail head starts directly behind the inn). Once you reach the higher elevations you are offered spectacular views of the town of Camden, Camden Harbor, Penobscot Bay and the beautiful surrounding mountains. Cadillac Mountain (Bar Harbor) stands impressively to the east. Proud to be the oldest (1918) daysailing windjammer in Camden. The Surprise offers two hours of adventure on board where you will experience Camden and Penobscot Bay the way it was meant to be...from the deck of this classic Gloucester Fisherman yacht. Schooner Yacht Heron. This schooner offers lunch and dinner cruises around the islands and shoreline of the Camden/Rockport area. Beyond the breathtaking scenery of the Camden Hills you will enjoy seeing countless seals, porpoises and seabirds as you sail thebay. The numerous lighthouses in the area make for great photo opportunities. Merryspring is a privately-owned 66-acre sanctuary where horticulture and nature can be studied firsthand. It is open to the public free of charge every day of the year from dawn to dusk. Spend the day and explore the island. Monhegan beckons to nature lovers, photographers, artists, writers, poets, and every traveler in search of a truly unspoiled hideaway. You can hike 17 miles of trails through towering evergreens and along the shore, visit art galleries and studios, and find special keepsakes in simple gift shops. Goose River Golf Club. Scenic and challenging 9 hole course, 2,910 yards, par 36. Nice 18 hole course, 6,300 yards, par 70. Samoset Resort (Rockport). Scenic on the ocean 18 hole course, 6,352 yards, par 70. These are some of our guest's favorites: A world-class restaurant inside a restored Victorian home in coastal Maine. Very upscale and very fine food and service. Classical cooking methods with strong inspiration from the cuisines of the coastal regions of both Italy and France. Reservations weeks in advance are recommended. Youngtown Inn and Restaurant. About 10 minutes up the road from the Swan House on Rte. 52. Excellent French cuisine and other traditional favorites. Very cozy atmosphere and good service. An excellent choice for a special occasion. Prism Gallery and Cafe. (Rockport) Features upscale dining of superb Italian cuisine and traditional New England fare in a fun, artistic atmosphere. Prism is an oasis and one-of-a-kind dining experience - Boston Globe. The Waterfront Restaurant. This seafood oriented restaurant is located on Camden Harbor. Both inside and outside deck dining is available. The ideal place to have lunch or dinner with outstanding harbor views and food as good as it gets. One of the best places to experience Maine lobster and other seafood dishes. The restaurant is located on the waterfront. Good food and service at moderate prices. Where the Mountains meet the Sea. Hike the mountain trail that starts directly behind the Inn and enjoy this spectacular view of Camden Harbor from Mt. Battie's Summit. A short walk down the hill from Swan House leads right to the heart of Camden, one of Maine's loveliest coastal villages. Few places can rival the beauty or the wealth of summer activities of this town, home to the Windjammer fleet, the Camden Civic Theatre, the Camden Opera House, unique shops and galleries, and many excellent restaurants. Camden's picturesque harbor offers the opportunity for daysails on a number of schooners, or a short cruise on an authentic Maine lobster boat. Drive to the top of Mt. Battie for a spectacular view of the coast, or hike the many trails of Camden Hills State Park - one of which starts behind the Inn and leads to Mt. Battie's summit. Camden offers swimming in clear Lake Megunticook (only a mile from Swan House), a scenic public beach, wonderful country roads for bicycling - as well as bike rentals - golfing, antiquing, and virtually any summer activity imaginable. Nearby Rockport hosts the Bay Chamber Concert Series and many other musical events. Museum buffs may visit Camden's historic Old Conway Homestead and Museum, the Owls Head Transportation Museum with its extensive collection of antique cars and airplanes, and the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland. The Farnsworth holds the Wyeth collection as well as a large selection of works by sculptor Louise Nevelson. During the winter months, enjoy downhill and cross country skiing at the Camden Snow Bowl - just a ten minute drive from the Inn.
