Carol Clarkson-Venable. Gem, Gem, Gem what can I say.  It the best and most affordable place to stay when you are visiting Grenada, WI. It has a private beach, resturant, bar and the best disco in Grenada.  You don't have to leave the premises if you choose not. Ms Julia Moore and here staff are just great and friendly.   In the past 7 years I have returned to Grenada, my country, three times and I stay at Gems all three times.  I now consider Geam Beach Resort  my home away from current home in the US. There, you will find peace and tranquility. The beautiful beach with its lovely white sand is the place to be. As for the Sur La Mer restaurant, you would find such exotic dishes with an excellent staff. Maid service does a good job of keeping your rooms clean, and provides you with fresh flowers each day. As for the Front Office Staff, I would say, thanks a million and of course not forgetting Management, Mrs. Moore Family. Over the years, I've spent my holidays at the Gem, also with the help of Management and staff, I've found it to be a real vacation. I am looking forward to be back very soon. I had originally planned to stay 4 days. We ended up staying 14! There is no where better. Peace tranquility at its best. Staff were friendly always most helpful. Dinner for 2 on the terrace was delightful. If you are looking for superb position, excellent hospitality, beautiful beach ( far superior to the Grand Anse) don't hesitate, you can't beat it. My wife and I traveled to Grenada in Oct 2003; a full 20 years after my first visit to the Island. Beyond all doubt the Gem, its staff and the people of Grenada re-enforced my perception of paradise found. My first visit in 1983 (courtesy of Uncle Sam) was on the occasion of a less happy time but served to whet my appetite for this beautiful, wonderful place and 20 years later I am fully smitten. When I left in 1983 I knew I would return for all the right reasons. I feel that way still. Thank you for who you all are and what you have accomplished in your wonderful nation. Ed Fernley. Monday 16:15 20.02.2006. My wife and I spent a week at The Gem Beach Resort in January 2006. The resort's name is misleading. It is not The Gem; it is The Crown Jewel of Grenada. We had a wonderful time. The situation on Morne Rouge Bay is wonderful, so unspoiled and peaceful. It is definitely a place for the discriminating traveller. The apartment was spacious and well appointed; the restaurant served great food; and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We hope to return in the not too distant future. Tuesday 18:11 14.02.2006. Every year I look forward to visiting Grenada, it's a really beautiful and scenic island with lots of warm and friendly people. I've stayed at the Gem Beach resort on my recent trips in 2003, 2004 and twice in 2005. The scenery is delightful and heavenly and the staff made me feel right at home with their warmth and hospitality. I enjoyed the food as well, my favorite dish being the curried Lambi. Overall I had a magnificent time on the beach as well as at the hotel. Mrs Moore, the Manager is also very accommodating and seeks the best interests of her guests. It's always a pleasure for me to visit Grenada and in particular to lodge at the Gem Beach Resort. I can't wait for my next visit. P.S. They make the best Rum Punch on the island. Monday 10:59 16.01.2006. My friend and I were lucky enough to stay at the Gem late last year. It's a lovely place, with a really friendly feel. The staff were always smiling and helpful and the beach was far prettier (and a great deal quieter) than the grand anse. Highly recommended and thanks to everyone for a really enjoyable stay.
