Some excerpts from the website of Casuarina Beach Club that might be useful
At Casuarina, there are many different sorts of activities to partake in ranging from very active sports to calming relaxation techniques such as Tai Chi. We have a wide range of board
games and a library in the reading
room. We frequently host educational events by leading Barbadian historians and other academics. These may be about Bajan architecture, geology, history and some include
video demonstrations. We also host Caribbean poetry reading, story telling and art
tours which go some way to demonstrate the wealth of local talent. The activities
desk can organise for you to join our managing director Bonnie on her weekly early morning
bike ride to view the dawn on either the west or east coast. There is
breakfast after cycling followed by a visit to some of the islands lesser known
beauty spots. If you are interested in hiking, there is the rugged east coast hills of Bawdens environmental park, a National Trust afternoon walk or a leisurely island
tour not to be missed. We can arrange all manner of water sports and boat cruises from the peaceful and sublime to the active and physically demanding. Visit Bridgetown, our capital or Oistins the local fish market. The Museum
tour begins with the history of the islands first settlers, the Arawaks and introduces you to the processing of sugar cane. Further this by going to see some of the now disused sugar factories or visit a rum distillery for a tipple. We can arrange a variety of nature
tours, or for you to visit the Harry Bayley Observatory for a detailed look at the night sky, a real pleasure as light pollution is not a problem here. On Wednesday nights, Leo Branch a local astronomer comes to Casuarina and sets up equipment on the beach for us all to stargaze. In short, there is so much to do. When at Casuarina, just visit Reggie, Shelly and Jordana at the activities
desk. They present a comprehensive orientation
meeting for all of our guests.

Our very nature means that we are always involved with improving ourselves and extending our abilities. On November 11th 1999, Casuarina launched the;Community Outreach Program; which has proven to be very successful. A number of Barbadian
business and private donors have donated materials, skills or money to this worthy cause. The program is dedicated to improving living conditions for our islands most needy. There have been heart warming situations where vast improvements in the quality of peoples lives have been made. Our objectives for the Community Outreach Program are: To encourage
business in Barbados to get involved with their communities. To actively look into our communities to determine where help is most needed. To determine ways in which people may find a starting point from which to build. Making members of the community aware of their neighbours in need and encourage them to help. Improving the standard of living wherever possible. Building an up to date database of people in need and keeping the projects ongoing. It is encouraging to know that persons who are in need do try to help themselves but are also confident enough to ask for help when it is truly required. We thank our sponsors for their assistance and donations and look forward to their continuing support in the future. Because of all involved, the Community Outreach Program has so far been a success.

Casuarina is located in the parish of Christ Church on the south coast of the island, adjacent to the St. Lawrence gap. The elegant
160 room apartment hotel is set amongst eight acres of abundant tropical flora of vivid
beauty. The
gardens are met by the soft coral sands of a 1500 foot stretch of beach and the brilliant blues of an inviting Caribbean ocean. Casuarina offers so much. There is a range of activities from entertainment to education, dining to satisfy every palate, art and craft for Caribbean culture and Bajan manner and, encompassing all of this, we are an environmentally friendly hotel. Please use the sub menu on the left for more specific information.
You're why we're here. Casuarina has a repeat occupancy rate of about 60%. Because of this, we have had the good fortune of being able to form friendships with many of our guests. We have also been witness to the friendships that have grown between groups of guests, to the extent that
parties of people arrange to have their vacations annually at the same time of year so that they are able to meet up at Casuarina. One very dedicated group of repeat visitors are;The Yellowbirds;. Every year we look forward to the joy they bring. We have arranged this section of the site for our guests. It is a small;Thank you; for your support. Over the years, Casuarina has grown in strength and has evolved into an environmentally friendly hotel. Many of our guests have walked beside us as we have made these changes and as the hotel has developed. Years ago we started with one block of
rooms. We now have six blocks and the hotel is active in many departments. Through this, the single constant satisfaction has been the ability to provide guests with a facility where they can relax and have the holiday that they desire.
