Happy Easter See Special offers page. Our new menu was launched 4th March, 2008. Unfortunately, we've had to raise the prices a little but at £9.00 for a small two course
lunch and £11.00 for normal size, it still represents excellent value and great quality. See the menu in the
restaurant section of the site. Prize Draw Winner! Results of the Guest Survey 2007 draws. The Winners were: Mr Fraser Dukes, Ms Lindsay Abbott, Mr. Mrs. Bays. Duty Manager Adam Pope holds the bag while Mr. Roobottom one of our regular
lunchtime guests makes the draw. The winners receive a two night stay at the Welbeck simply for filling out our 'Guest Survey' which is placed in all our
bedrooms. We apologise for being a little late with the draws but we are now up to date. In July 2006, we opened our new
bar and it seems to be very popular with the guests and diners coming in for meals. Staff Updates! John O'Malley is our Head Chef. John has been a great success, really enhancing our reputation as one of the best
restaurants in Douglas producing high quality meals with fresh food, mainly sourced locally. John has extended the menu, particularly the seafood section. Andew Buist is our excellent Sous-Chef. Click here to see our sample menu. Website We hope that you like our website but please feel free to comment.
Swimming Pool Leisure Facilities Our 2007 deal with 'Living Well' to provide our guests with a nearby
pool gymnasium free of charge has been extended to include 2008. Children are welcome and between 10am and 7pm and you only need to ask for a pass at reception each time you fancy a dip or working out at a more comprehensive gymnasium. DeafGuard We now have a device to make the hard of hearing aware of when the fire
alarm has been activated. It fits underneath the
pillow and vibrates when it picks up the sound of the siren. Smoking Ban The Welbeck Hotel is now a completley no smoking hotel! So far, it has proved to be a very popular decision. As part of our survey, we asked what our guests thought of the new no smoking policy and only 3% were against it
Rooms Accessories! All
rooms and
apartments are now fitted with electronic
safes. They are perfect even if you want to keep your laptop
safe! As the
apartments already come with
fridges, we thought the
rooms could also do with somewhere to keep your
drinks cold after hours. So they have also been fitted with mini
fridges! The Welbeck is
Wireless!!! A wires-free network has recently been fitted by Computech Services Ltd. This will give you, the guests, the ability to access the
Internet and Email etc from anywhere in the hotel providing you have the capable equipment. Again, we are not charging you for this service! Unfortunatly this service does not as yet cover the
Apartments. Plans have been made to have the
Apartments included Very Soon! Death of Stuart Murphy. It is with great regret that I have to announce the untimely death of Stuart who was our Chef from 1988 to 2005. At the age of 42, Saturday 14th April 2007, he succumbed after a bravely fought battle against mouth cancer. Although most of his treatment was in Spain, he returned to Slough to stay with his Auntie Sheila over his last few days and the cremation was Wednesday 25th April and there was a good attendance with friends travelling from all over Europe. Hotelier Mourned Peter George, the late owner of The Welbeck Hotel, sadly passed away early 2004. To read a
newspaper report on him,
