December 24th Christmas Eve. Our Holiday program commences December 24th. With tree trimming around the log fire in the Hibiscus
Lounge, we supply the egg nog, you bring an ornament from your hometown! Last minute shopping should be completed as the stores will be closed until Saturday, December 27th. Jane will be playing the
baby grand during
dinner. After
dinner, relax around the fire place with a liqueur or glass of port. If you are interested in attending one of the many Midnight Masses being held throughout the island, please check with the front
desk for locations and times. There should be a broadcast from the United States, but of course this starts at 1:00am as we are ahead of Eastern Standard Time. December 25th Christmas Day. Relax on this special day. After
breakfast perhaps take a walk on the beach or have a Christmas Day swim. The front
desk will have church service times for Morning Mass, if you are interested in attending. Please join us around the
pool for a complimentary light
luncheon and egg nog
party commencing at 12:30pm. On
television this afternoon will be the Annual Christmas message from Her Majesty the Queen. Chef Mick has promised a feast fit for kings with traditional Cassava Pie, Christmas Crackers, Christmas pudding for evening
dinner, and Anna will entertain us on the
baby grand in the
restaurant. December 26th Boxing Day. Traditionally a fun day in Bermuda. There are many sporting events taking place on the island and as this is a public holiday, stores will be closed. You might catch a glimpse of the elusive Gombey Dancers in their exotic costumes. Gombey dancing is a colorful art form unique to Bermuda, with roots in Africa, accompanied by drums and whistles. The term Boxing Day originates from England where the young apprentices of trades people exacted gratuities, in the form of Christmas boxes, from their masters customers. At 7:00pm Chef Mick has promised another feast and Tom will be in the
dining room to entertain you during
dinner. A regular shopping day. Many of the stores will commence their after Christmas sales so you can purchase some gifts. The weather was beautiful in 2007, in the high 70s perfect for
golf and
tennis, or just exploring. Visit the old town of St. Georges today. Most
shops will be open and dont miss the old lanes with National Trust protected buildings on them. A guided
tour of the Old Town commences from Kings Square at 10:00am. The mayor of St. Georges greets you at 11:45am and at 12 noon, the highlight is a witch dunking into St. Georges Harbor. A great day to take a ferry to Somerset and the Royal Naval Dockyard. A guided nature walk and talk starts from the Anchor fountain near the clock tower at 11:15am and a full
tour of the Dockyard commences opposite the Museum at 2:15pm. A day to relax and rest up for our New Years Eve
celebrations. Some Christmas customs from around the world From old Scandinavia comes the burning of a log on the Lords hearth each year, the main convivial event of the season. Decorating a tree comes from Medieval Germany. The hanging of Mistletoe comes from the Druids in England who, at their own solstital festival, used to cut it from their most sacred tree, the oak, in belief of its great curative powers. December 31st New Years Eve Gala
Dinner Dance. At 7:15pm, the Management of Pink Beach cordially invites you for New Years Eve complimentary
cocktails until 8:00pm. At 8:00pm, a Gala
Dinner will be served in the Bermudiana
room supplemented by the Tom Rays Quartet for your listening and dancing pleasure throughout the evening and into the wee hours. Ring in the New Year, Bermuda style! January 1st New Years Day. For those not feeling up to par, we will be hosting a Bloody Mary
Party around the
pool terrace commencing at noon until 2:00pm. Please refer to this page for additional information and updates throughout 2008
