A special marriage license is available to any couple whom do not reside in the BVI with the purchase of $110.00 BVI Postage stamps from the Post
Office on Main street. Proof of identity and marital status are also required, in the form of a passport or notarized birth certificate with picture. If you have been widowed or divorced, the original death certificate or divorce papers are needed. (If these are unobtainable, a Decree Absolute from a lawyer will suffice). The license will take 3 full working days to process, (not including weekends or public holidays) during which time the Attorney General will hold your passport or papers. Having applied for your license, continue to the Registrar's
office located above Burhym's on Decastro Street, to confirm the date, time and location of the
wedding. The registrar will require the names, ages and occupations of the couple to be married and the names of the two witnesses to the ceremony. The fees payable to the registrars

wedding is performed in the
office or $100.00 if it is performed elsewhere. The ceremony is conducted according to the British Law. Ceremonies can be arranged between Monday to Saturday. As with any commonwealth country, the only records of your
