The Old English Lodge
The Old English Fishing Lodge at the River Langa is 6 km to the west of the small town of Borgarnes, about one hour drive from Reykjavik. On the banks of the Langa, one of the most famous salmon rivers of the country, it was originally built by Englishmen in 1884 and is the oldest lodge in Iceland. Until recently it was only for fishermen at the river, but last year it was turned into a guesthouse. There are 10 double bedrooms in the lodge, five of them with a bathroom each. There is also a dining-room, two sitting-rooms, a kitchen, storage's, cooler and some spare rooms. Guests and groups are able to choose service from simple sleeping bag accommodation to full service/hotel style accommodation with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The guesthouse Milli Vina was funded in the year 2001 at Hvitarbakki which is in Borgafjorour, (ca. 100 kilometers from Reykjavik). We offer six double rooms meo good beds, access to a living room, dining room, TV room, three bathrooms and a good kitchen. There are also two double sofa beds in the living room. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden where a hot tub is located. In the garage we have a full size snoker table and darts. The house has two floors.
