Historical Watermill 'Remanente' in Las Nieves. It was built in the 18th century right there where the canyon 'El Rio' opens, 10 minutes by car from Santa Cruz, at a two minutes walk from the island's supreme church 'Las Nieves', at an altitude of 250 mts above sea level. Despite its romantic-rural situation it is easily accessible through a country road passing nearby. The last 100 mts have to be done on foot along a steep cobble stone path. In the surroundings small farmers cultivate fruit trees and vegetables and keep cattle. Twice a day goats are being driven into the nearby mountains covered by thick pine forests.
