Guest House Birds Nest Cottage
Built in 1853, Birds Nest Cottage, with its woodland garden and riverside location, has been an established Guest House for more than 30 years. Since we acquired the business 18 months ago we have refurbished all guest and public rooms to a high standard. We pride ourselves on providing a home from home atmosphere with modern facilities in a traditional environment. We have 5 bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin and 1 single), and so can accommodate groups as well as single people, couples and families. All rooms have television, tea coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Ironing facilities are available upon request. All rooms have ensuite or private bathrooms. Peace and tranquillity everywhere, with only the cry of the curlew and the sheep, panoramic views all round, the brilliant purples of the heather on the hillsides in August - all this and yet only 40 minutes or so from Manchester, Stockport, and Manchester Airport. Solitude in the Hills. Rock Farm started off offering be and breakfast accommodation in 1993, after realising that not only were we in an ideal position both for tourists and for business people alike, but that the layout of the house was particularly suitable for BB. We only take one party at a time (a party being anything from 1 - 5 people) which means that guests have their own bathroom, dining room and lounge available all day, all quite separate from the family part of the house.
