Loch Ness Backpackers Lodge is a warm and friendly little Hostel with a relaxed atmosphere, good music and no curfew. The Backpackers Hostel is located in the village of Lewiston just a few minutes walk from Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, a perfect location for activity or relaxation. Horse riding, fishing on the Loch and mountain biking can all be arranged locally. Loch Ness Backpackers has grown from what was once an 18th century farm cottage and barns. It is a clean, cosy and friendly place to stay while travelling by Loch Ness or the Great Glen Way. The two separate areas make it an ideal set up for larger groups of up to 40, or for smaller groups and individuals who could be accommodated separately in either the 16 beds in the main house or the 24 in the bunkhouse area. Benleva has all the facilities you would expect to find in a Highland hotel - fine food available all day, comfortable en-suite bedrooms and of course 2 bars serving the best Scottish ales and malt whiskies. What we aim to offer above all else is a friendly welcome and service that will make you feel relaxed, contented and reluctant to leave. The current proprietors purchased Benleva in November 2001. We now have a busy bar, catering for visitors and locals alike, as well as a more peaceful lounge bar. Dinner is served every evening in both bars and during the summer months lunches are also available. Polmaily House
The name Polmaily derives from the Scots Gaelic Polla Mhailidh, meaning the pool of St Maile. Records show that Polmaily House was built in about 1700 and was home to noble families on the side of Prince Charles (Bonnie Prince Charlie) in the Jacobite uprisings. The Hotel sits amid 18 acres of beautiful surroundings designated the Lady McAlpine Gardens steeped in history that hold an array of secrets such as the oldest Diador tree in Scotland - called the old man of Glen Urquhart. The tree is over 400 years old! Other delights include a unique range of original Bee Boles that are set within our stone-walled top garden.
