Situated in the very heart of the picturesque county town of Lewes, The Crown Inn offers comfortable BB accommodation at reasonable rates. The earliest mention of the Inn was as The Black Lyon in 1675 when Henry Townsend was the landlord, changing to The Crown in 1790 under the care of Joseph Spittle. We believe we are the oldest continuously trading Inn in Lewes. The Inn is the headquarters of one of Lewes' famous bonfire societies, Waterloo, who prepare year-round for the magnificent Lewesian celebrations of November 5th.
