Coming down the hill on your approach to Hartland Quay Hotel you may well be in awe of quite what you have come across, but we are certain that when you have to go home again, you will be looking forward to the next time that you will see that sight. Situated at the bottom of a steep hill, this fantastic place is steeped in history. The main building has been a hotel since 1886, but in days gone by it has been among other things, a bank, an oast house and the bar was the stables. Above the bar were the corn and hay lofts, which are now some of the bedrooms. It is owned by the Stucley family who reside at the nearby Hartland Abbey and has been run by the Johns family for the last 40 years and is at present in the hands of the third generation of the family.
